Description:We are seeking a Certified Phlebotomist to become part of our dedicated team!Who we are...Cancer Care Associates of York has been an independent practice for over 40 years, treating patients in the York, PA community for their oncology and hematology needs.Check out our website; seek individuals who;Are passionate and take pride in the workHave a strong personal desire to serve others & make a difference in the lives of our patientsAre dedicated and have the longing to grow with the practiceEnthused about working in a fast-paced environmentThe Certified Phlebotomist is responsible for performing venipunctures and other CCAY clinical laboratory duties essential to the daily operation of the laboratory, with the aim of providing timely and accurate patient results to clinical staff.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: The following duties are considered essential to the job. Qualified individuals must have the ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform the following duties.Verifies lab testing orders and processes orders according to CCAY lab policy.Obtains blood for lab analysis via venipuncture.Performs routine testing in clinical laboratory on blood &/or body fluids including CBC, pregnancy, occult blood and urinalysis testing.Performs and records quality control and basic instrument maintenance as required.Participates in proficiency testing surveys as assigned.Navigates laboratory associated computer systems to retrieve and enter pertinent data.Assesses inventory levels and records items necessary to be ordered by lab manager.Answers telephones to best of ability, consults with other lab personnel or relays information when query is beyond personal knowledge.Provides quality customer service and communicates effectively with patients and practice staff.Complies with all health and safety policies of the medical practice.Maintains attendance expectations.Complies with all practice policies and procedures including CCAY’s Code of Conduct.SECONDARY JOB DUTIES: The following duties are considered secondary to the essential functions listed above.Delivers lab specimens to Apple Hill Lab Annex.Fax reports to outside physicians or hospitals.Assists with transportation of patients as needed.Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.Requirements:· High School Diploma or equivalent· Phlebotomy certification, must be maintainedPreferred Job-related Experience· One (1) year experience in a laboratory setting· Exposure to medical terminologyJob-related Skills· Proficient with operation of computers and EMR experience (EPIC).· Detail oriented· Good organizational skills· Excellent customer service and communication skills· Ability to perform duties in a fast paced, demanding environment.· Ability to maintain empathy and professionalism during all patient interactions.Benefits Offered:Competitive Compensation & Generous Paid Time Off401(K) & Profit Sharing Plan w/ generous company contributionAffordable Medical, Dental and Vision PlansLife Insurance Plan - company paidEmployee Assistance ProgramShort & Long Term Disability Plans (voluntary)Consistent Day Schedule w/ no weekends, evenings or holidays
