Job Title:Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) AnalystType of Position:This position will begin as a 6-month contract, with strong potential for long-term employment. While the contract is initially set for 6 months, there is no fixed end date, and extensions beyond the initial term are possible. Conversion to a direct hire role may occur as early as 3 months, depending on individual performance and business needs. Although direct hire is not guaranteed, it is a common outcome for high-performing team members, and most contractors in this role do transition to permanent positions over time.Job Location:North Charleston, SC (on site role)Compensation:$50.00/hr to start. Overtime is paid at 1.5x over 40 hours)Benefits:Available (health insurance, dental, vision, 401k, etc) benefit eligibility begins the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment.This role will have 5 days PTO (PTO accrues over time). In going direct hire, there will be significantly more PTO.Job Description:HRU Technical Resources has partnered with an American multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, and distributes engines, filtration, and power generation products to hire a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Analyst. We are seeking well-rounded candidates with 5 to 7+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise in machine guarding, LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) electrical safety, and risk assessments. Strong candidates will possess proficient computer and database skills, be adept with spreadsheets, and have hands-on experience with HSE management systems. Additional valuable skills include STF (Slips, Trips, and Falls) prevention, hoist and crane safety, confined space protocols, ergonomics, and demonstrated lock out tag out competency.Responsibilities:Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the site Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System (HSEMS).Gather and report data on emissions, discharges, incidents, accidents, and perform visual site inspections.Sample wastewater discharges, maintain waste accumulation areas, and ensure proper labeling of waste containers.Assist with the application of engineering and administrative controls to minimize environmental impact and control safety risks.Collect and analyze site HSE KPIs for reporting purposes at the local, business unit, and corporate levels.Monitor day-to-day operations regarding pollution prevention, waste management, air and water quality, and related compliance programs.Support compliance initiatives such as stormwater management, employee training, recordkeeping, and regulatory reporting.Participate in internal and external HSE audits, resolve basic issues identified in audits, and update HSEMS documentation.Assign training based on site safety training requirements and extract/distribute reports on training progress, audits, corrective actions, and other relevant HSE metrics.Perform trend analysis for the HSE function and prepare presentations for leadership teams using health, safety, and environmental data.Manage and maintain HSE team digital platforms, calendars, meeting invites, and team scorecards.Create and maintain HSE-specific reports (e.g., in PowerBi), organize and distribute safety alerts, and assist in budget preparation.Coordinate workshops, meetings, and purchase order submissions for HSE-related functions.Qualifications / Requirements:Bachelors degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related technical/scientific field.5 to 7+ years of experience in an HSE role.Competency in hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measure selection.Proficient in HSE management systems and able to interpret/apply international HSE standards.Skilled in HSE incident investigation, root cause analysis, and development of corrective actions.Strong understanding of measurement and evaluation of HSE performance using KPIs and data analytics.Ability to manage regulatory compliance for health, safety, and environmental standards.Strong computer, database, spreadsheet, and data visualization skills.Experience using digital collaboration/communication tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, PowerBi).Effective communicator with the ability to present information clearly to different audiences.Strong planning and organizational skills.Preferred:Ideal candidates will have a CMSP (Certified Mine Safety Professional) certification (but this isnt required).Work Environment / Other Info:This is a 1st (day) shift role. Our standard schedule is 7:30am to 4:00pm (Monday to Friday)This will be an on site role (no remote / hybrid work).There may be occasional overtime (although not frequent).
