Certified Athletic Trainer

Overview:NovaCare Rehabilitation is seeking a passionate Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to provide care for our athletes in Youngstown, OH. This position is a full time athletic training position located at Youngstown State University. While reporting directly to the NovaCare Director of Sports Medicine for Northern Ohio, the Athletic Trainer will be coordinated on-site by the YSU Director of Sports Medicine working under the medical supervision of the YSU Medical Director. We are looking for Assistant Certified Athletic Trainer. This will be 12-month position. Free for ATC's!Comprehensive health-care and 401(k) plansCompetitive compensation with annual performance reviewsResponsibilities:Design and implement specific therapeutic programs for injured athletes’ rehabilitationDetermine the need for and administer proper athletic training techniques before and during games/practices to decrease risk of injury (techniques can include taping, wrapping, bracing, proper hydration and minor wound care)Determine the effectiveness of athletic training/rehabilitative techniques and record change as indicated by athlete response within limits of specified plan of careManage emergency incidents, coordinate EMS and acute care procedures including basic life support to reduce the impact on function of an injured athlete.Seek outreach opportunities and participate in events to promote the company (races, club teams, etc.)Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degreeNational Athletic Trainers Association (NATA-BOC) certificationCPR certificationApplicable state license where requiredPreferred Qualifications:Master’s degree
