Hours:40Schedule:This position is hybrid and remote eligible up to 40% of the time. The office location for this position is at ESL Corporate Headquarters in Rochester, NY. Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Must be able to meet current and future needsPay:Starting pay - $114,000 Range - $100,921 - $127,228.61 plus additional incentivesPurpose of Position:The Manager, Mortgage Originations provides strategic direction and hands-on leadership to a high-performing team of mortgage originators. This role is responsible for driving loan growth, elevating customer experience, and building a culture of excellence. With a focus on team development and strategic planning, this position plays a key role in ESL’s initiative to become the number one provider of residential mortgage financing in the market. An ideal candidate demonstrates collaborative leadership, strong business acumen, and the adaptability needed to thrive in a competitive lending environmentPrinciple Accountabilities:Lead, Coach, and Develop the Sales TeamLead the Mortgage Origination team comprised of Business Development Mortgage Originators (BDMOs) and Mortgage Originators (MOs) to achieve and exceed sales goalsRecruit, train, mentor, and develop team members to foster a high-performance cultureMonitor team performance to ensure alignment with ESL’s core values and member satisfaction objectivesCollaborate with secondary marketing, product, and marketing teams to optimize sales efforts and maintain market relevanceRegulatory ComplianceEnsure mortgage applications are accurate, complete, and compliant with internal procedures and regulatory requirementsMaintain team proficiency in product knowledge, underwriting standards, and compliance regulationsPromote excellence in creditworthiness analysis and product recommendationsOperational StrategyParticipate in Mortgage Lending organizational planning including sales goals, budgets, staffing, and project initiativesDevelop strategies to generate new mortgage business and expand market shareCollaborate with internal teams (secondary, product, and marketing) to optimize sales and ensure relevance within the Mortgage footprintContinuously Develop Skills and Advance ExpertiseStay informed on industry trends, regulatory updates, and best practices in mortgage lendingEngage in leadership development, networking, and community activitiesSupport departmental and organizational goals through additional duties as neededQualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in mortgage lending, business, finance, or relatedindustry7+ years experience managing an external sales team in financial industry such as business banking,mortgage, commercial lending, or closely related industryDemonstrated success in building, coaching, and leading high-performing sales teamsDemonstrated experience managing budgetsDemonstrated analytical skills to interpret performance metrics and market data, informing thedevelopment and execution of long-term sales strategies aligned with organizational goalsMust complete submission of application to the NMLS within the first week of employment and besuccessfully registered as a Mortgage Loan Originator through ESLPreferred Qualifications:1+ years mortgage experience in originations, processing, or underwritingComfort leading teams through change, such as market shifts, regulatory updates, and businesstransformationExperience working closely with executive leadership, marketing, product, and/or complianceteams to drive business outcomesActive participation in industry associations and networking to enhance brand visibility andbusiness development, with an established network of relevant realtor relationshipsWe’re committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
