*Job Title:* Director of Nursing (DON)*Location:* Sistersville, WV*Assignment Duration:* 8 weeks*Shift:* Day Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM), 30-minute meal break*Schedule:* 40-hour weekly guarantee*Contract Type:* Temporary Travel Assignment*Order Reason:* New Opening*Job Summary:*We are seeking an experienced *Director of Nursing (DON)* to oversee the nursing services at Sistersville, WV. The DON will be responsible for the management and coordination of all nursing personnel and services to ensure the highest level of quality care and compliance with state and federal regulations.*Key Responsibilities:** Lead, manage, and evaluate nursing staff, ensuring effective delivery of patient care services.* Maintain compliance with all state, federal, and facility regulations.* Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and best practices.* Oversee patient care planning and ensure residents’ healthcare needs are met.* Collaborate with physicians, multidisciplinary teams, and administrative staff.* Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate training programs.* Manage nursing department budgets, staffing, and schedules.* Respond to audits, surveys, and inspections.*Required Skills:** Leadership and team management in a healthcare environment* Knowledge of long-term care regulations and state/federal compliance standards* Strong organizational and time-management abilities* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills* Crisis management and problem-solving in clinical settings* Proficiency in EHR systems and care documentation*Education Requirements:** *Minimum:* Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)* *Preferred:* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or master’s in nursing (MSN)*Licensure & Certifications:** *Active Registered Nurse (RN) License* – valid in West Virginia or compact license accepted* *BLS Certification (Basic Life Support)* – required* *CPR Certification* – required* *ACLS Certification* – preferred* *Infection Control Certification* – preferred*Experience Requirements:** *Minimum 3–5 years* of clinical nursing experience* *At least 2 years* in a nursing leadership or DON/ADON role* Previous experience in *long-term care*, *skilled nursing*, or *rehabilitation facility* is highly desirable* Familiarity with *CMS regulations*, *JCAHO standards*, and *survey readiness**Additional Information:** Travel or local candidate's welcome* Must be able to commit to the full 8-week contract* Background check and health screenings required before start*Duties** Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure adherence to best practices in patient care.* Oversee home health services, ensuring that all protocols are followed for optimal patient outcomes.* Conduct thorough documentation reviews to maintain accurate medical records and compliance with regulatory standards.* Manage daily shift operations, ensuring adequate staffing levels and efficient workflow.* Advocate for resident rights, ensuring that all patients receive compassionate and respectful care.* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs.* Provide leadership in training and mentoring nursing staff on medical terminology and best practices in nursing care.* Monitor quality assurance measures, implementing improvements as necessary to enhance service delivery.*Experience** Proven experience in a nursing leadership role, preferably as a Director of Nursing or similar position.* Strong background in supervising nursing staff within a healthcare setting.* Familiarity with home health services and regulations governing patient care.* Demonstrated ability to review documentation effectively, ensuring compliance with medical records standards.* Excellent shift management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.* In-depth knowledge of resident rights and commitment to advocating for patients' needs.* Proficient understanding of medical terminology and its application in clinical settings.* Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of healthcare professionals.This role is essential for maintaining the highest standards of nursing care within our organization while promoting an environment focused on teamwork, respect, and excellence in patient service.BI01Job Types: Full-time, ContractPay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:* Dental insurance* Health insuranceSchedule:* 5x8* 8 hour shift* Monday to FridayAbility to Commute:* Sistersville, WV 26175 (Required)Ability to Relocate:* Sistersville, WV 26175: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
