Slitter Operator - Printing Manufacturing

*We are a high-end label manufacturing company looking for an experienced slitter operator. We specialize in labels for the cosmetic industry.** *Do you have prior slitting experience?** *If you can answer yes, we invite you to apply.**Job Summary*Responsible for the set-up and operation of slitting equipment to cut printed master rolls of labels to customer specified width and length dimensions while ensuring safety, quality and production standards are met.*Primary Responsibilities** Set up and operate the slitter equipment to slit rolls of labels printed on flexible plastic film and paper to specified length and width* Rewinds labels according to customer specifications and internal procedures* Maintain acceptable production, waste, quality, and safety standards* Visually inspect finished samples for defects to ensure customer quality standards and requirements are met* Complete production paperwork and data entry on PC in a timely manner* Troubleshoot equipment and product quality issues* Ability to inspect and spot label roll defects and correct as needed* Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.* Other tasks and duties as assigned*Required Skills/Abilities** Good motor skills* Mechanical Dexterity* Analytical skills* Understand basic math skills and be able to use them effectively* Ability to read a ruler and use a calculator* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision* Ability to Speak English* Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English* Ability to read and write in English*Education and Experience** High school diploma or equivalent* Previous related experience preferred*Physical Demands** The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move up to 75 pounds* Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of timeJob Type: Full-timePay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hourBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceSchedule:* 8 hour shift* Monday to FridayEducation:* High school or equivalent (Required)Experience:* slitting : 1 year (Preferred)Shift availability:* Day Shift (Required)Ability to Commute:* Farmingdale, NY 11735 (Required)Work Location: In person
