Send us your resume today!*Summary*Adheres to duties and responsibilities of the job assigned which may include Utility Work, Grounds, Building Maintenance, and repair.Schedule- 1st Shift-6:00am - 3:00pm Monday through Friday*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Read work orders or follow oral instructions to do daily tasks in addition to completing responsibilities that have been assigned by pre-set schedule.* Assist with various building maintenance duties including installing drywall, painting and carpentry work.* Assist in plumbing as needed.* Assist in mechanical maintenance work.* Occasional concrete work.* Responsible for tending to the grounds, including mowing the grass, weed whacking and mulching as needed. Also responsible for snow/ice removal and salting when needed.* Performs monthly fire extinguishers checks, initialing cards on fire extinguishers, door checks, Glass Safety inspections and lighting inspections at all Pet Food division buildings.* All employees must actively participate in stretching exercises at the beginning of their shift; participate in product inventory as required; follow all company safety rules/procedures and OSHA Standards; follow established company rules & guidelines; follow established continuous improvement procedures and SQF standards.* Operate skid loader as required as well as company truck or van.* Required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned*Qualifications *The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.*Education* - A high school education or general education degree (GED); 1-2 years or more of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Prior experience in doing building maintenance including inside construction is required – such as drywall installation and painting.*Language Skills* – The ability to read, write and comprehend the English language. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations with other employees.*Math Skills – *Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage.*Reasoning Ability - *Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.*Physical Demands – *Must be met by an employee to successfully perform job.· Required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Frequent need to talk or hear. Occasional need to sit; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.· The employee must lift and/or move up to 60 pounds 50% to 100% of shift.· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.*Work Environment *While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
