Full-Time Activities Assistant

*Job Summary*We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activity Assistant to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in our long-term care facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors, particularly those with dementia or other cognitive impairments. This role involves working closely with residents to facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities that promote social interaction, physical health, and emotional well-being.*Responsibilities** Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.* Facilitate group activities such as games, arts and crafts, music sessions, and exercise classes.* Provide one-on-one support to residents who may require additional assistance or encouragement to participate.* Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all participants during activities.* Assist with decorating the facility.* Cooking and baking/using ovens.*Behaviors: ** Patient* Unphased w/ repetitive questions* Understanding* Able to handle confusion* Aware that COVID/illnesses at times are prominent in building.
