Job Description

*Position Summary*The Government Contract Sales Specialist is responsible for proactively identifying, developing, and securing government contract opportunities at the federal, state, and local levels. This position supports both service and sales functions across the organization, serving as Michelli’s subject matter expert in government contracting. The role is embedded within the Business Development team and requires strong collaboration with internal departments and external agencies to win and maintain government contracts. This is an in-office position to ensure high visibility, effective communication, and team collaboration.*Key Responsibilities** Proactively monitor and identify government contract opportunities using a variety of online procurement portals and databases.* Build and maintain a pipeline of bid opportunities aligned with Michelli’s core services and product offerings.* Guide internal stakeholders through bid/no-bid decision-making processes.* Coordinate the full life cycle of government bids: from opportunity tracking, registration, and bid preparation through submission and award follow-up.* Ensure compliance with government regulations and bid requirements.* Maintain and update company registrations and certifications (e.g., SAM.gov, state procurement portals).* Serve as the primary liaison between Michelli and government agencies.* Collaborate with Account Managers, Service Managers, and Technical staff to develop accurate scopes of work and pricing for government proposals.* Provide internal training or updates on relevant procurement changes or best practices.* Support the broader sales and service teams by acting as an internal resource for government contracting knowledge.* Assist in the preparation of quotes, pricing models, and documentation related to public sector bids.* Contribute to Business Development initiatives and support other projects as assigned by the Business Development Manager.*Required Qualifications** Proven experience with government contracting, procurement portals, or public sector sales processes.* Strong project management and organizational skills.* Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.* Proficient with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and online procurement tools*Benefits** 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Health savings account* Paid time off* Vision insurance* Commission PlanJob Type: Full-timePay: $60,000.00 - $74,999.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceAbility to Commute:* New Orleans, LA 70123 (Required)Ability to Relocate:* New Orleans, LA 70123: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
