Children Theatre Costumer

Overview:We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Children Theatre's Costumer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creativity and clothing, with experience working with children ages 4-18 and ability to communicate clearly and stay on schedule.As sewing is not a requirement of this job, please note if you do have sewing experience and to what extent.Duties:* Gather, create, purchase and pull costumes for theatrical productions within the allotted production schedule for each show* Assign and fit costumes to actors of all ages during rehearsals* Handle costume changes backstage during dress rehearsals and performances* Maintain an organized work space and inventory* Communicate clearly with management on budget needs for purchasing and status of projectsQualifications:* Preferred but not required 2 years experience in theatre / performing arts* Preferred but not required 2 years experience working with children ages 4-18* Strong organization and communication skills* Ability to work independently and positively/creatively as part of a team* Excellent attention to detail and time management skillsPlease note:* If you have theatre experience please notate what that experience is on your resume or attachments* Likewise, if you have experience working with kids please list/explain that on your application. We are looking for daycare experience, leading sports teams, theatre productions, etc. We are not looking for examples including babysitting* Cover letters are highly preferred* Attachments are highly preferred (letters of recommendation, examples of work, etc).* Please note: Previous costume experience is not required. We are predominantly looking for someone with great energy, reliable, team player, and works well with kids and deadlines.
