*About Cafe Momentum*Café Momentum is a nonprofit restaurant and professional training facility in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia. The program offers a 12-month paid post-release internship for young men and women coming out of juvenile detention. These Interns rotate through all aspects of the restaurant while focusing on the development of social and life skills with a comprehensive case management team. Our team works to transform young lives by equipping our community’s most at-risk youth with life skills, education and employment opportunities to help them reach their full potential.*Summary of Role*The goal of the Service Trainer is 1) preparing justice-involved youth, ages 15-19, with restaurant training, catering service training, and soft skills to be successful in the workforce; and 2) supporting the youth in our program and maintaining the Café Momentum standards of service. In both goals, they are responsible for designing and leading in both preparatory and real-life work settings while working in partnership with the General Manager to ensure the holistic socioemotional well-being of the youth.The ideal candidate is patient, creative, a great listener, experienced in restaurant and food service settings and incredibly passionate about supporting our community’s youth. They understand the systemic issues contributing to youth incarceration in this country, and when working directly with youth, offer support and empathy while inspiring them to be the best version of themselves.The Service Trainer is responsible for front of house service to both customers and interns, creating and implementing service training for interns. This position is a full time, salaried position reporting to the General Manager.*Responsibilities** Lead service training of interns on FOH duties and responsibilities.* Work alongside interns to develop skills and confidence.* Keeping Interns engaged and on task through mentorship and guidance.* Ensures consistent high quality of food preparation and service.* Work catered events, both onsite and offsite.* Contributes feedback in weekly intern updates/reviews and in 1:1 meeting with Asst GM* Ensures sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of dining areas.* Maintains appropriate restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.* Supervise deep cleaning.* Conduct weekly and monthly inventories.* Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws and ordinances.* Monitor the beer and wine menu, ordering to maintain proper inventory levels.* Assist the Accounting & Operations Manager with any invoicing issues/questions in a timely manner.*Other** Beer and wine knowledge is preferred.* Fine dining experience is preferred.* Appearance and communication are always professional.* Performs other duties as assigned.* Must submit to and pass a background check prior to final employment offer.* Must submit to and pass county clearance within 45 days of employment.* Must be cleared to drive interns and insurable on catering vehicles.*Qualifications and Skills** HS diploma required. Associate, BS/BA, or culinary degree preferred.* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook* Demonstrated commitment, passion and compassion for the mission of Café Momentum* Ability to maintain workplace confidentiality and take ownership/accountability for own actions and aspects of the job* This position requires working with interns/juveniles who may have committed dangerous/aggressive acts; applicant should possess a high tolerance for working in a possible emotionally demanding/stressful work environment* Acts as a representative for the organization in the community and at special events*Character** Positive disposition, attention to detail, flexible, and adaptable with the ability to learn new tasks quickly while multi-tasking many responsibilities and projects simultaneously with concurrent deadlines is required* Passion for working with youth and sensitivity to cultural backgrounds* Good role model to young people in personal character, integrity and behavior* Creative and energetic*Physical Demands and Work Environment** Stand for six continuous hours: stoop, squat, kneel and bend.* Bend from a standing position in a manner that allows the palms to touch the knees.* Bend from the waist in a standing position with arms outstretched for an extended period.* Twist, turn and/or stretch from side to side.* Lift, carry and/or support 40 pounds from shoulder level to above the head.* Perform duties requiring repetitive and non-repetitive motions with hands and wrists.* Work with caustic and non-caustic chemicals.* Work in a hot and/or humid environment.Job Type: Full-timePay: $50,000.00 per yearBenefits:* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceWork Location: In person
