Gather Food Hall is an exciting food hall concept opening in Philadelphia this September 2025. We are seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee a dynamic, multi-unit operation: our lively food hall with 7 vendors and a large centralized bar. This is a unique opportunity to take the lead on dynamic and community focused F&B project.You’ll have the autonomy to run day-to-day operations while collaborating with a corporate support team to shape service standards, build strong teams, and deliver an exceptional guest experience. We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about hospitality, confident in food & beverage operations, and ready to take the next big step in their career.In collaboration with the leadership teams, the General Manager will set and communicate standards and practices for the business to ensure a high-performance and happy team. The General Manager works closely with the management teams to drive service each day and inspire team members to work together and hold one another accountable to the standards set. The General Manager inspires, educates, and supports the team to create the best hospitality experience for all guests and the best work environment and experience for all staff.*Core Tasks and Key Responsibilities** Grows teams of people who exemplify our culture and values* Embraces specific performance, cultural, guest, and financial objectives for their team and holds them accountable to specific KPIs* Coach management teams to work daily to turn first-time diners into regular devoted guests* Monitors payroll on a weekly basis and makes proactive adjustments to staff schedules based on business levels* Use sound judgment to make decisions that are best for both the short-term and long-term health of the business* Make time for mentoring teammates throughout the business* Lead the management team in fairly and consistently executing progressive disciplinary action with members of the entire staff* Effectively manage teams to open and close physical operation* Ensure excellent maintenance and cleanliness of the business at all times* Organize and complete the business's administrative setup and breakdown (including but not limited to: the creation of floor plans, menus, employee check-in, employee cash-outs, bank close-out, payroll adjustments, etc.)* Maintain effective & timely communication with all FOH/BOH and team members.* Continuously provide support to all service staff and actively participate in the cycle of service as needed* Cultivate regulars and continue to find ways to strengthen the food hall* Work with the management team in a support role capacity for activities related to private dining events, including but not limited to; processing payments, menu coordination and logistics, etc.* Work with beverage management to conduct, reconcile and submit regular beverage inventory* Act as the first responder for all tech issues involving the POS, etc.* Complete all assigned administrative requirements accurately and on time* Remain current and compliant with the correct HR practices and policies* Ensure that the payroll process is completed accurately, on time, and according to business/accounting procedures* Ensure Health Department compliance as it pertains to the operation* Ensure that appropriate physical inventory is available to staff/guests at all times* Ensure that CGS products are of high quality and appropriate aesthetic* Meet or exceed budget for COG’s through effective purchasing and product maintenance* In conjunction with restaurant management, hire and train service staff according to food hall standards for hospitality and excellence* Manage scheduling of employees* Provide continuous training and leadership to develop and grow the team* Hold employees accountable to all standards and practices, evaluating and/or following disciplinary procedures when necessary* Ensure both FOH and BOH are well stocked for serviceOther Qualifications_Relevant Knowledge, Skills, & Ability:_* 5+ years prior hospitality management experience* Proficient knowledge of systems and processes in restaurant management* Strong financial acumen* Ability to lead and empower a team* Ability to demonstrate discretion and leadership in complex employee relations matters* Ability to embody, teach, and inspire our values_Education/Experience:_* Bachelor degree (preferred)_Work Environment:_* Involves sitting, walking, and standing throughout most of the dayThis company is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.
