Certified Peer Crisis Responder

For a rapidly growing outpatient Mental Health facility, Quality Behavioral Health is adding a new program to help those in our community struggling and in crisis. We will be hiring a total of 4 new Enhanced Peer Certified Crisis Responders to work side by side with our current Designated Crisis Responders, meeting people where they are at and guiding them to the help they need.In order to become a Certified Peer Counselor, applicants must have personal lived experience, and be willing to share that personal experience with others in efforts to connect and help guide potential clients to the proper services. Lived experience can be anything from receiving services for Mental Health, Substance Use, interaction with Child Welfare, Developmental Disabilities and/or Juvenile Justice Systems. Applicants must use their knowledge to empower, educate and support clients experiencing similar challenges. Applicants must act as a role model and be comfortable sharing their story in a professional manner.Peer Certified Crisis Responders will work a24 hour shift every 4 days from 8am until the next morning at 8am, typically adding up to 7 to 8 shifts per month. *Crisis Responders are paid to be on call during their shift, but only respond if an actual crisis call comes in. *Evening and weekend work is required in this position.In this position, you will work alongside a Designated Crisis Responder to rapidly response and assess needed services including engagement, supportive counseling, information and referral, assistance with Medicaid enrollment as appropriate. You will help link clients to requested/necessary resources, appropriate community-based mental health and substance abuse disorder services for ongoing treatment and follow-up.Crisis services are provided to adults, children and families under the supervision of the Crisis Program Manager and in accordance with agency specific standardsThe primary goals of the QBH crisis team is to divert individuals from involuntary psychiatric treatment.
