Proven ability to train, manage, and hold teams accountable to performance goals.*Job Title: *Adoptions Manager*Location: *Big Dog Ranch Rescue – 14444 Okeechobee Blvd, Loxahatchee, FL 33470*Reports To: *Operations Manager/Director of Operations*Salary:* $50,000 - $60,000*Schedule: *Full-time, including some weekends and evenings for events*Job Description:*Big Dog Ranch Rescue is seeking an *Adoptions Manager *to lead our Florida adoption team with a focus on substantially increasing adoption rates, expanding and deepening our presence in the community.This role is ideal for someone who is outgoing, energetic, highly organized, and experienced in hospitality, customer service, and team leadership. The right candidate will oversee the full adoption process, manage and mentor staff, and ensure every potential adopter receives top-tier service. Equally important, this role is responsible training, and managing all adoption staff, working alongside our events team to coordinate offsite adoption and outreach events that promote our mission and programs.Success in this position requires excellent sales, communication, and hospitality skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a genuine passion for animal welfare. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on connecting people with purpose—and dogs with loving homes.*Key Responsibilities:**Team Leadership & Department Management** Hire, train, schedule, and manage the adoptions team, including Adoption Leads and Adoption Counselors.* Implement and maintain structure, accountability, and performance benchmarks for the department.* Coach staff on customer service best practices, adoption counseling, and accurate communication of dog information (bios, histories, behavior, etc.).* Foster a positive, solutions-driven team culture with a focus on professionalism and compassion for our dogs.* Set and achieve measurable departmental goals related to adoptions, service quality, adoptions rates and community feedback.* Lead regular team meetings and provide ongoing performance evaluations and feedback.*Adoption Process & Client Experience** Oversee the full adoption process—from application screening to final placement—with a focus on matching the right dog with the right home.* Ensure that every adopter receives exceptional service and guidance, creating a welcoming and supportive experience.* Educate adopters on breed characteristics, care needs, and training resources to promote successful, lifelong placements.* Maintain accurate and updated dog bios in coordination with staff, behaviorists, and trainers.* Manage and coordinate meet-and-greets, fosters, and off-site adoption events.*Community Engagement** Collaborate with outreach/events staff to promote community involvement, develop offsite adoption opportunities, and represent the organization at public events.* Serve as a key liaison between the Ranch and the public, acting as an adoption ambassador for our mission.*Cross-Department Collaboration** Work closely with Marketing, Medical, Training, Kennel, and Events teams to ensure clear communication and alignment on all adoption-related matters.* Communicate regularly with department heads to stay informed about adoptable dogs’ medical and behavioral status and adoption-readiness.* Participate in planning and execution of adoption-focused campaigns and community engagement initiatives.*Requirements:** 5+ years of leadership experience, preferably in a customer-facing, hospitality, or nonprofit environment.* Strong background in customer service; hospitality experience is a plus.* Experience in animal rescue, shelter operations, or dog handling strongly preferred.* Outgoing, people-oriented personality with excellent communication and conflict- resolution skills.* Ability to multitask, stay organized, and thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.* Proficient in using technology and databases to manage adoptions and track performance metrics.* Must be available to work Saturdays and some offsite events as needed.* Valid driver’s license and ability to lift/move event supplies (up to 30 lbs)._*Drug-Free Workplace*_Job Type: Full-timeSchedule:* 8 hour shift* Tuesday to Saturday* On call* Weekends as neededAbility to Commute:* Loxahatchee, FL 33470 (Preferred)Ability to Relocate:* Loxahatchee, FL 33470: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)Work Location: In personJob Type: Full-timePay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per yearBenefits:* Dental insurance* Employee discount* Health insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceWork Location: In person
