Crew Member - Base Camp / Disaster Response Operations

*Job Type** *Seasonal - Fulltime *(40-100 hours per week)* Season is typically between *June - Nov/Dec** Depending on performance, conduct, and successful completion of a season, a full-time position is possible. We are always open to bringing on full-time permanent personnel who fit well with our team.*Job Summary*We are looking for dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our team as *Seasonal Base Camp Crew Member*s. In this role, you will assist in setting up, maintaining, and taking down base camp equipment for emergency response operations. This is a seasonal position with the possibility of extended work based on project needs and performance.*Typical Work Schedule - When Not Deployed** Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm* 30-minute lunch break* Two 10-minute breaks*Typical Work Schedule - When Deployed to Support a Base Camp Operation:** Initial 24-36 hours are longest and most physically demanding (up to 16-20+ hours) to set up equipment as soon as possible.* Once equipment is operational, shifts vary between 10-16+ hours with no days off for the duration of the base camp operation.* Breakdown at the end of the base camp can also be long (up to 16-20+ hours) to facilitate returning home promptly.* Typically, after each base camp deployment, employees are given 1-3 days off to rest and reset for the next deployment.*Key Responsibilities (During Normal Operations)** Ensure the cleanliness and organization of all equipment.* Perform general maintenance and repairs as needed.* Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.* Provide support to other team members and management as needed.*Key Responsibilities (During Base Camp Operations)** Assist in setting up, operating, and tearing down heavy equipment, such as Mobile Shower Trailers, Mobile Laundry Trailers, Mobile Office Trailers, Mobile Generators, Large-scale Shelter Tents, Grey and Potable Water Trucks, and other support equipment.* Assist in cleaning, repairing, servicing, and replenishing equipment after each operation.* Be willing and readily able to deploy on sometimes very short notice (wildfires and natural disasters don’t have a schedule).* When deployed, you may often work 12-16+ hour days in adverse conditions, such as extreme heat or cold weather.* Be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and be on your feet for several hours a day.
