Manual Machinist

*Job Overview*Hatfield and Company is looking for Light Production & Custom Fabricator in our Rockwall, TX office. The position sets up and operates manually controlled machines in skilled precision and bench work in the fabrication, maintenance, repair & alteration of machinery, machine parts, tools and equipment.3-5 years experience in fabrication*Responsibilities** Use precision tools, machinery and equipment such as manual lathe, vertical milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, chop saw, band saw and a variety of cutting and welding equipment such as TIG, MIG and Oxy-Acetylene* Fabricates and shapes parts out of metal, plastics and composites* Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines,* Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling* Repairs manufacturing, packaging and material handling equipment when needed* Assists in maintaining an accurate inventory and maintenance logs through activities such as: proper reporting of parts inventory usage, tracking of time worked, minimizing waste, reporting any spills or unique situations that adversely impact operations* Completes all required paperwork (timesheets, quality sheets, etc) accurately* Works in a safe manner following all departmental and safety rules* Responsible for immediately reporting any unsafe work conditions to manager, supervisor or management*Qualifications** Specialty training beyond high school or work experience* 3-5 years of experience in manual machine shop equipment such as mill and lathe required* Previous work experience with workshop and power tools related to mechanical work recommended* Show competent knowledge of mechanical workings* Previous experience with forklift, scissor lift and/or man lift recommended* Experience with TIG, MIG, oxyfuel cutting or ability to learn* Must be able to pass a background checkJob Type: Full-timePay: From $22.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceWork Location: In person
