*Farm Tour Guide, Animal Care, & Guest Services - Agritourism - Alpacas, Llamas, & Mini Farm Animals **Work With Amazing Animals, Guests, and Team Members! We’re staffing up as our summer interns and college students head back to school **16-30 hours Part-time*. *Monday-Friday*. *Must be able to work a flexible schedule and work weekends and holidays on occasion for special events **Pay dependent on experience. **Must currently live within commuting distance of Waynesville, NC and be able to start within 2 weeks from hire date.*Winchester Creek Farm is a family owned, 20 acre farm located in beautiful Waynesville, North Carolina. We raise Alpacas, llamas, and mini farm animals. We offer our guests tours, alpaca yoga, experiences, events. an on-site and online gift shop.Winchester Creek Farm is looking for an independent, creative, detail oriented, and hard working animal lovers with excellent customer service skills to join our team and grow with our business. This position will assist in providing the highest quality care for our many loved animals (Alpacas, Llamas, Miniature Horses & Donkeys, Mini Cows, Mini Pigs, Sheep, Goats, Chickens, Ducks, Dogs, and more), provide the highest level of professionalism and kindness to our guests on farm tours and experiences, help to assist guests in our retail gift shop, and help with a variety of other duties on the farm.We are looking for an energetic, detail oriented, and self-starter candidate to work 30+ hours per week.*Hours required:*Must be able to work a flexible schedule, hours will vary depending on tours/events and business demands, but hours scheduled will predominantly be between 8:00 am- 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Some weekends and holidays are required for this position for special events.*Duties would include:** Assist with conducting Farm Tours, Experiences, and Events.* Assist with planning, promoting, decorating, set-up, hosting, and clean-up before, during, and after tours, events, or experiences* Assist as needed in our on-site gift shop doing retail sales, displays, customer service, fulfilling online orders, inventory management, and cleaning.* Assist in various animal care duties, grooming, training, and cleaning as needed* Assist with gardens, planters, and flower beds* Painting, lawn mowing, fencing repair, maintenance, repairs, tree trimming, cleaning, etc* Assist in keeping barns, feed areas, and public spaces organized, stocked, swept, and clean.* Various other miscellaneous jobs as required.*Qualifications for this position:** Ability to work with our guests in a polite and professional manner.* Giving tours or demonstrations to the public, planning and event management and/or retail experience a huge plus.* Must be an animal lover with a big heart and kind demeanor toward animals. We only use positive reinforcement with our animals.* Must enjoy and be able to work outdoors in the elements for extended periods.* Must be able to be on your feet and physically active for extended hours.* Must learn the tour protocols and learn and research on each breed of our animals to be knowledgeable and informative during tours and events.* Must have experience in a retail environment and able to conduct retail transactions accurately.* Organizational skills, attention to detail, creativity, and ability to follow protocols established for the farm.* Experience with horses and Alpacas/Llamas a huge plus.* Ability to work as part of a team and with our customers and guests with professionalism and enthusiasm.* Dependable, our animals and quests count on us.* A natural storyteller with an enthusiasm for natural, animals, and the outdoors.* Able to work independently, with a keen eye for detail to get things done.* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.* Reliable transportation and a valid drivers license with no major citations in the last 24 months.We do not allow smoking, vaping, drugs, alcohol. or gum chewing on the farm for the health and safety of our animals and our guests.Hours: 16-30 hours per weekPay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour depending on experience.
