The Abbey Inn & Spa features luxurious guest rooms and suites, exquisite indoor and outdoor private event spaces, a full-service spa and Apropos restaurant and bar.**Position Summary:*The Banquet Prep Cook is responsible for the preparation of food for banquet events, ensuring all items are prepared in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner. This role requires the ability to follow specific recipes, execute prep tasks accurately, and support the overall success of banquet functions.*Key Responsibilities:** Prepare and cook food according to banquet event orders (BEOs) and standardized recipes.* Assist with food prep for large-scale events, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning.* Ensure that all food items are properly stored and rotated following food safety guidelines.* Set up banquet prep stations with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment.* Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift.* Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures as per company and local health regulations.* Communicate effectively with banquet chefs and kitchen staff to coordinate timely food preparation.* Assist in plating and garnishing dishes for service.* Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues.* Assist in breaking down and cleaning kitchen and prep areas after events.*Qualifications:** Minimum 1 year of kitchen experience, preferably in banquet or high-volume food production.* Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene.* Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.* Excellent time management and organizational skills.* Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.* Flexibility to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.*Physical Requirements:** Ability to stand for extended periods of time.* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.* Ability to bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive motions.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hourBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Employee discount* Health insurance* Paid time off* Referral program* Vision insuranceShift:* Day shift* Evening shift* Morning shiftAbility to Commute:* Peekskill, NY 10566 (Required)Work Location: In person
