IMPORTANT:* *An active Certification as a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) OR Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) through the PA Certification Board is* *required*.* *Applicants MUST be able to pass a criminal background check via the PA State Background Check system, FBI Background Check, and ChildLine clearance.** *Schedule is FLEXIBLE. Co-Responders may be required to work evenings, overnights, and/or weekends. **Position Summary*Candidates for the position of Peer Support Co-Responder must be flexible, responsive professionals capable of managing multiple concurrent priorities, tasks, and assignments. The Peer Support Co-Responder must demonstrate measurable skill in MH/CO screening and assessment, care coordination, recovery navigation and support, documentation, caseload management and collaboration.The Peers are embedded within police departments in the Lancaster County area and work alongside police officers in the field. Peers will work at the direction of Specialty Programs Leadership to respond/engage consumers, screen, assess, and provide ongoing mental health and co-occurring substance use recovery navigation and ongoing peer support to individuals through law enforcement encounters and referrals. Peer workers help those they serve identify and build on strengths and empower them to choose for themselves, recognizing that there are multiple pathways to recovery.*Person-Centered*: Peer recovery support services are always directed by the person participating in services. Peer recovery support is personalized to align with the specific hopes, goals, and preferences of the individual served and to respond to specific needs the individuals has identified to the peer worker.*Voluntary*: Peer workers are partners or consultants to those they serve. They do not dictate the types of services provided or the elements of recovery plans that will guide their work with peers. Participation in peer recovery support services is always contingent on peer choice.*Relationship-Focused*: The relationship between the peer worker and the peer is the foundation on which peer recovery support services and support are provided. The relationship between the peer worker and peer is respectful, trusting, empathetic, collaborative, and mutual.*Trauma-Informed*: Peer recovery support utilizes a strengths-based framework that emphasizes physical, psychological, and emotional safety and creates opportunities for survivors to rebuild a sense of control and empowerment.*Duties & Responsibilities** Maintain an active and professional relationship with all program stakeholders and service providers, including effective collaboration with the participant’s care team, receiving referrals and communicating the status of program participation, care coordination and navigation, for each participant referred.* Respond on-scene to assist law enforcement personnel with the placement and coordination of services for individuals in the community.* Utilize data entry within the scope of core job duties, as well as at the direction of Lead and Directors.* Follow a timely schedule of communication with Program stakeholders and participants, initial meetings with new participants, ongoing recovery supports consultations, and guided completion of each individual’s identified goals.* Utilize appropriate Screening Tools, as well as other identified Programmatic Tools, to identify the needs, goals, and action steps of each individual, as well as to determine a necessary Level of Care. Co-Responders will facilitate behavioral health Evaluations through referral, when behavioral health treatment services are indicated.* Coordinate behavioral health services and ancillary needs-based services.* Utilize designated database to keep accurate and detailed records of each individual’s received services, coordinated services, relevant legal documents, relevant releases of information and consents, Recovery Plans, and any other appropriate documentation.* In collaboration with the participant’s care team, provide ongoing recovery systems navigation and support services, including facilitating transfer to higher or lower levels of behavioral health care as needed by the individual.* Participate in Community Trainings and Educational initiatives at the direction of the DSP.* Adaptability to developing program needs, referral processes, and on call rotations as identified per program need.*Education & Experience** Active Certified Peer Support Specialist or Certified Recovery Specialist certifications through the PA Certification Board.* *Applicants MUST be able to pass a criminal background check via the PA State Background Check system, FBI Background Check, and ChildLine clearance.** Experience in Substance Use Disorders and/or Mental Health Treatment settings (preferred but not required)* Familiarity with Electronic Medical and Case Records System(s) (preferred but not required)* Basic competency in the use of electronic productivity applications (Microsoft Office 365) required.* A valid PA Driver’s License is required.Job Type: Full-timePay: $45,000.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceAbility to Commute:* Lancaster, PA 17601 (Required)Ability to Relocate:* Lancaster, PA 17601: Relocate before starting work (Required)Willingness to travel:* 25% (Preferred)Work Location: In person
