*Job Brief: *The Senior Center Program Coordinator serves as our key lead for the Senior Center – working to activate vibrant and meaningful engagement for our elders and the community at large. The individual who organizes the Senior Center is a highly organized, reliable and friendly individual who can manage multiple tasks and be able to function in an environment characterized by healthy happy ageing.With a passion for community and helping others, the individual in this position will present a professional approach, be able to manage multiple projects and collaborate among many internal and external team and community members.*The Senior Center Program Coordinator will lead to :** *Plan and implement programs:*Coordinating various activities, classes, and events, such as recreational, social, health, wellness, and cultural activities, tailored for older adults.* *Conduct Senior Outreach & Community Engagement:*Reaching out to area seniors: Actively recruiting participants and raising awareness about the center's programs and services.Supports efforts to solicit and coordinate donations, volunteers and sponsors* *Provide Volunteer Management :*Recruiting, training, and supervising volunteersManaging volunteers to ensure the center's efficient operation and providing necessary support to volunteers.* *Administrative and Operational Duties:*Ensuring the facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained for members and patrons.Managing resources: Handling food, supplies, and equipment inventory, including the coordination/booking of vendors providing services.Assists In the maintenance databases and records; prepare related reports and correspondence.Plan and organize donation collections, admission processes, and ticket salesIdentify, research and help write grants and funding requests in partnership with the executive directorIdentify, enforce, and adhere to health, safety, and other regulations.Assist with budgets and budget performance, and calendars of activities.Maintain confidentiality, especially related to sensitive organizational, customer, and other generally private information.* *Member support and service delivery *Identify, enforce, and adhere to health, safety, and other regulations.Provide exceptional customer service to those contacted in the course of work, offering information and assistance with class registrations, events, programs, and other activities and facility tours, of both the Senior Center and Sierra 2 Center as needed.Perform related duties as assigned.*Qualifications Required** Principles and techniques used in planning, coordinating, and servicing seniors and senior activities.* Health, fire, and safety codes and emergency procedures within the facility and with emphasis on senior clientele.* Service and operations need associated with events and recreational activities.* Computers and common software packages, including electronic communication devices.* Supervisory and interpersonal relations techniques.*Experience:*Two years of responsible experience in planning and supervising recreational activities, preferably with seniors.*Education: *Two years of college, business school, or specialized education focused on seniors. Experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.· Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, QuickBooksPreferred:Working Conditions: Usual office-type environment, Long periods of sitting, and computer useWork Location: On-site - @ Sierra 2 Center, 2791 24th Street, Sacramento, CA 95818This position is 24 -30 hours/week, Monday through Friday, occasional evenings and weekends.Benefits (full time only) :* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Paid time off* Retirement plan* Vision insuranceHow to Apply.
