Bridal Sewing Professional

*Position:* Seamstress / Tailor*Hours: * Full or part-time available*Hourly Rate: * Commensurate with experience*Description:* We are a rapidly growing shop seeking a seamstress/tailor to work on bridal and formal alterations. Experience with advanced alteration techniques and bridal gowns required. Familiarity with industrial sewing equipment is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate. High-quality hand sewing and pressing techniques are a must. Must be a team-oriented person willing to pitch in as needed and be a part of an energetic workroom’s continuing growth and expansion.*Experience:* Professional sewing experience and/or formal training required.*Job Description / Task Assignments** Press and prepare garments for customer pick-up.* Capable of high quality, detailed hand sewing.* Help to keep the entire shop clean and organized.* Able to learn and repeat new techniques with a consistent level of quality.* Be able to complete job-related paperwork and process basic math.* Understand and execute advanced alterations and restyling of gowns.*Skill set / requirements:** Ability to work and interact closely with coworkers.* Good communication and customer service attitude and skills.* Familiarity with industrial sewing equipment, its operation, and maintenance.* Full knowledge of both hand and machine sewing techniques.* Able to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner.* Willingness to learn and grow.* Speak and read EnglishApplicants must present samples of their work and will be asked to demonstrate their abilities.
