*NORTHWEST COLLEGE IS LOOKING FOR A PART TIME FINANCIAL AID AND VA ADMINISTRATOR TO SUPPORT COSMETOLOGY STUDENTS AND BE A TEAM PLAYER.*SUMMARYThe right candidate will have excellent customer service skills, ability to multi-task and be highly organized. This position also requires excellent phone skills. Northwest College’s Financial Aid Advisors are responsible for handling inquires, enrollments, financial plans, repackaging, program adds and/or drops, and meeting all Federal and State requirements. This person will also work with Admissions, Receptionist and School Supervisors in meeting student needs.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMeet with new student enrollments and review paperwork, answer questions, discuss financial options/plan and assist in completing all financial paperwork through graduation.Ensure student eligibility is confirmed and documented through the proper procedures. FAFSA, verification, taxation documentation.Responsible for certifying and updating VA student enrollments through VA Enrollment Manager website.Process weekly attendance reports, hours (SAP), draw down funds as appropriate in a timely manner all while openly communicating with students.Excellent computer skills are needed as a financial aid advisor. Accurately maintain and data entry in various systems on a daily basis.Responsible for maintaining all Student Files. This requires scanning and upload to the SMART system (Student Management and Record Tracking), and ensuring that all paperwork is signed and student files are complete and properly organized.Responsible for packaging all new students within 14 days of them starting school.Monitor hours milestones on a regular basis and repackage students as appropriate.Add new programs and/or drop programs. Ensure students are communicated with from the financial aspect and all paperwork is complete. Responsible for maintaining student drops via SMART & R2T4.Verification of accuracy of spreadsheets.Assist in yearly Title IV audits.*EDUCATION*High School Diploma and some College Coursework. Accounting, Financial Aid, Collections, tax, etc. background extremely helpful. Training in the Fundamentals of financial aid useful.*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES*· Customer Service is Key· Accurate and attentive to detail· Demonstrable, thorough and accurate knowledge of existing federal Title IV Student Financial Aid regulations· Computer literate with a basic knowledge of MS Office software package, financial aid software· Strong organization skills· Ability to work independently on a variety of tasks and efficiently with minimal supervision.· Ability to perform moderately complex mathematical calculations, i.e., add, subtract, multiply and divide, use decimals to calculate percentages, ratios and to draw and interpret graphs, create formulas for use in analysis.· Present professional appearance and demeanor by phone or in person and enjoy meeting the public· Excellent written and verbal communication· Reliable record of attendance, punctuality and proven successful performance at prior and present employers.· Exercises good judgmentTravel to and from business locations required on an occasional basis.*PHYSICAL DEMANDS*While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, hand, wrist and finger coordination, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to walk and stand. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.*WORK ENVIRONMENT*The environment is clean, indoors; with frequent noise levels in the medium range.
