Our mission is to exceed expectations by striving for continuous improvement in the quality of our products and services.*Position Overview*As an Assembler in our cable harness manufacturing team, you will focus on first piece and prototype builds. This hands-on role requires deep expertise in interpreting technical drawings and work instructions to build complex wire and cable harness assemblies from the ground up. The ideal candidate will be experienced in applying IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards, capable of troubleshooting design or documentation issues during early-stage builds, and comfortable collaborating across Engineering, Quality, and Production teams. In addition to building high-quality assemblies, this role contributes to process validation, documentation improvements, and mentoring less experienced assemblers. This is a critical role in supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring that each build meets the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and compliance.*Responsibilities ** First-Piece and Prototype Assembly: Assemble first-piece harnesses during prototyping or pre-production builds with little to no supervision, interpreting technical drawings, schematics, MPIs, blueprints, and work instructions.* Component Assembly: Assemble components and sub-assemblies into required configurations for functional evaluation and performance testing.* Quality and Compliance: Apply deep knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards to ensure workmanship meets or exceeds compliance requirements. Inspect and verify own work using visual aids, checklists, and inspection tools.* Process Control: Determine when a process is complete, submit first-piece assemblies for QA approval, and ensure product count and build precision.* Issue Resolution: Identify and escalate discrepancies, design issues, documentation gaps, or equipment malfunctions to Engineering, Quality, or Supervisors for timely resolution.* Documentation Support: Contribute to updates of work instructions, BOMs, and visual aids based on hands-on build experience and NPI feedback.* Inventory and Setup: Verify part counts and special handling needs; set up workstations with required tools and components and perform basic testing such as pull tests.* Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams during new product introduction (NPI) to validate build processes and improve outcomes.* Training and Mentorship: Mentor or train less experienced assemblers on best practices, quality standards, and build criteria.* Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, organized work environment and comply with all safety protocols and use of PPE.* Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing training and support continuous improvement efforts to maintain high performance and adaptability.* Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned to support evolving production needs.*Qualifications** Experience: 2-5 recent years of hands-on experience in wire harness assembly, with a deep understanding of IPC WHMA-A-620E workmanship standards.* Technical Skills: Proficient in soldering, crimping, and stripping wires, with a solid understanding of wire harness mechanical assembly.* Time Management: Strong ability to manage time effectively, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and production schedules.* Physical Requirements: Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds and working in a physically demanding environment.* Communication Skills: Able to comprehend and follow moderately complex written and verbal instructions.* Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using hand tools, crimpers, wire cutters, drills, and other related wire preparation tools.* Documentation Expertise: Knowledgeable in reading and interpreting blueprints or drawings to ensure cable assemblies are built to exact specifications.* Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail, ensuring each assembly meets the highest standards of quality and accuracy.Job Type: Full-timePay: $22.00 - $33.00 per hourBenefits:* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceExperience:* crimping : 3 years (Required)* Soldering: 3 years (Required)* IPC 620 : 3 years (Required)* Blueprint reading: 3 years (Required)* building cable harnesses from scratch: 3 years (Required)Shift availability:* Day Shift (Required)* Night Shift (Required)Ability to Commute:* Morgan Hill, CA 95037 (Required)Work Location: In person
