Flexible scheduling with designated days off.Position Purpose:The Camp Host serves as the primary point of contact for campers at Campground Island, ensuring a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable camping experience. This role involves customer service, light maintenance, and enforcing campground rules while promoting the natural beauty and recreational opportunities of the island.Essential Job Functions:1. Guest Services- Hospitality is a big part of the CI brand and vision!- Greet and check in campers, assist with reservations, and provide information about Campground Island, including rules, pricing, facilities, and nearby attractions.- Answer camper questions, offer directions, and promote interpretive programs or local activities (e.g., hiking, fishing, or wildlife viewing).- Collect camping fees, sell firewood, or handle small transactions as needed.2. Campground Maintenance- Perform light cleaning of restrooms, showers, picnic areas, and campsites using approved methods and chemicals.- Pick up litter, clean fire rings, rake walkways, and maintain campsite furniture (e.g., wash tables, tighten bolts).- Report maintenance issues (e.g., plumbing, electrical) to campground management.3. Safety and Compliance- Patrol the campground to ensure guests follow rules, such as quiet hours, pet policies, and campfire safety.- Extinguish unattended or unsafe campfires and report violations to the campground manager.- Monitor for unsafe conditions (e.g., wildlife interactions, hazardous weather) and inform campers of emergency procedures.4. Administrative Tasks- Utilize the campground reservation system to register and check guests in/out as well as future reservations.- Accomplish daily check-list items and keep record of actions.- Attend safety meetings and training sessions as required.Other Job Duties:- Assist with special events or interpretive programs (e.g., crafts, kids story time, movie nights, and other planned activities).- Perform minor repairs or painting projects as skills allow.- Act as a liaison between campers and campground management, delivering non-emergency messages.- Asist with any other needs as directed by management.Qualifications:- Must possess a positive "can do" attitude.- Strong customer service and communication skills to interact with diverse campers.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, displaying mature judgment, tact, and reliability.- Physically capable of performing light cleaning, lifting up to 20 pounds, and walking/patrolling the campground.- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and handle potentially hazardous tasks (e.g., cleaning restrooms, wildlife encounters).- Valid driver’s license and background check.- Preferred: Experience in hospitality, outdoor recreation, or maintenance; knowledge of first aid/CPR; familiarity with camping practices.Additional Requirements:- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, with flexibility for after-hours camper requests.- Compliance with campground uniform or appearance standards.Benefits:- Opportunity to work on a scenic island environment with access to recreational activities (e.g., kayaking, hiking).- Potential for end-of-season bonus- Satisfaction of contributing to a positive camping experience and preserving Campground Island’s natural beauty.Job Types: Part-time, SeasonalPay: From $15.00 per hourExpected hours: 10 – 15 per weekBenefits:* Employee discountLicense/Certification:* Driver's License (Required)Ability to Commute:* Dover, PA 17315 (Required)Work Location: In person
