Tube Mill Operator - 2nd Shift: M-F 10 hrs

Crucial Link is hiring inMedina for aFull-Time Tube Mill Operator2nd Shift - 4:00pm - Midnight/2:00am45+ hours/wk+Willing to train the right person - must have heavy industrial experience, preferably in the STEEL/METAL industry.JOB TITLE: Tube Mill OperatorREPORTS TO: Plant ManagerJOB PURPOSE: Sets up, operates, or tends to tube mill and auxiliary equipment to form and weld tubular products.PAY RANGE: $25-35/hr, depending on experience, skills, and abilities.*Temp to Hire – Benefits available after employee is hired on by the company.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Lead mill operations in cooperation with mill foreman.* Responsible for overall tube quality.* Communicate to mill personnel specifics of mill order instructions.* Responsible for welding strips of steel together to allow the material to be properly pulled through the machinery.* Set and adjust tooling for proper steel tube formation.* Adjust the motor controls and welder control to ensure the tubing is properly sized.* Inspect cut steel tubing using micrometers to measure thickness and ensure that it is within tolerances.* Inspect the steel tubing for appearance. Performs Rockwell tests, cone expansion tests, and flattening tests.* Record all necessary production data.* Responsible for leading all mill changeovers.* Assist in the assembly of work coils and impeders.* Assist with cut-off, uncoiler, and crane positions as needed.* Responsible for work area organization and cleanliness.* Assure proper maintenance of mill equipment, including fluid levels and lubrication.* Responsible for initial and continuing training of mill personnel.* Assist the finishing and slitting departments as necessary.* Perform all other related duties as necessary.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:* 1-3 years’ experience in Steel Industry environment* Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.* Proficient at industrial mathematics.* Works well independently with good decision-making skills.JOB COMPETENCIES:* Job Knowledge & Technical Expertise* Quality of Work* Productivity* Customer Service Orientation* Safety* Cooperation/Teamwork* Dependability* Initiative
