With a dedicated team and a passion for the outdoors, we offer career growth opportunities and a positive work environment.*Position Overview:*Heartwood Tree & Timber is seeking an experienced and responsible *Crew Lead* to join our growing team. As a Crew Lead, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing tree service operations, ensuring the safety and efficiency of tree rigging, climbing, and removal tasks.*Key Responsibilities:** *Tree Removal & Pruning:* Perform tree removals, trimming, and pruning, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.* *Rigging & Climbing:* Perform tree rigging, climbing, and the use of proper techniques for safe removal and trimming.* *Operate Equipment:* Save operation of equipment including, saws, forestry truck, woodchipper, stump grinder, etc.* *Safety Compliance:* Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety protocols and guidelines.* *Equipment Management:* Maintain, inspect, and operate tree service equipment, including chainsaws, ropes, harnesses, and aerial lifts.* *Leadership:* Lead and supervise, crew members* *Training & Development:* Train and mentor crew members, providing guidance on proper tree care techniques and safety practices.* *Site Management:* Oversee job sites, ensuring cleanliness, proper equipment setup, and safe work zones.* *Client Interaction:* Communicate with clients, providing updates on job progress, answering questions, and ensuring customer satisfaction.* *Troubleshooting:* Address any technical challenges during jobs, finding solutions for difficult tree removals, climbing issues, or equipment malfunctions.*Qualifications:** *Climbing & Rigging Skills:* Proficient in climbing techniques, tree rigging, and aerial lift operations.* *Safety Knowledge:* Strong knowledge of safety protocols and proper equipment use.* *Physical Fitness:* Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.* *Communication Skills:* Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to lead a team effectively.* *Certifications (Preferred):* ISA Certified Arborist, TCIA, CPR/First Aid certification, or similar industry certifications.*Benefits:** Competitive pay (commensurate with experience)* Paid time off (PTO)* Sick Leave* Career growth opportunities and paid training & certifications* A supportive and team-oriented work environmentWe look forward to hearing from you!Job Type: Full-timePay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hourExpected hours: 30 – 50 per weekBenefits:* Paid time offSchedule:* Day shiftApplication Question(s):* Do you have a clean driving record in the past 5 years?Experience:* Tree Climbing / Crew Lead: 2 years (Preferred)License/Certification:* Driver's License (Required)Ability to Commute:* Mason, MI 48854 (Required)Work Location: In person
