On-Site Resident Manager

DISCOUNTED 1-BEDROOM UNIT - Looking to hire On-Site Resident Manager Position at a 14-unit residential building + 1 office building (next door to each other) in Berkeley, one block from Campus. Position is available 6/1/2025.Looking for someone for a long-term commitment of 3-5 years at least! Ideal for a tradesperson or individual with handyman skills.Not ideal for travelers – need someone around or nearby daily.The properties are at 2235 Channing Way & 2239 Channing Way. Move into a beautiful ground floor, 1-bedroom in a sought after location. The 2239 Channing Way building has an on-site laundry room and parking available at 2235 Channing Way.Responsibilities:Keeping the property clean is a priority! Pick up trash, clean exterior walk-paths, sweep and scrub, trash and recycle bins to curb and return, weekly.Minor maintenance and repairs including light bulbs replaced, batteries replaced for smoke alarms, garbage disposal restarts, etc.Handle After-Hours Emergencies: In the event of an emergency, the Resident Manager will contact the appropriate vendor and be available to let the person in the affected unit in the event the resident is not home.Show apartments for lease: Field phone calls and emails, show apartments, and answer questions at least 2 days a week and one hour time slots for viewings during leasing season February through June.First line of contact for conflict resolution with residents handling in a professional, tactful manner.What it takes:1 or more years experience as a resident manager with basic handy person skills, or comparable, is preferred but not required.Generally at home (or nearby) during the day with an emphasis on evenings and weekends.Help foster a community that is warm, caring, and engaged.Must have a reliable cell phone, computer, and printer and be email proficient.Exceptional customer service skills and communication skills for being responsive, diplomatic, and fair.Physical and schedule flexibilityWhat you get:Enjoy a great living space in a one-bedroom apartment at this incredibly well-maintained building.
