Machinist

*Job Overview*This is an hourly role that reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for operating and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) and manual lathes and mills to cut, shape, and finish materials, mostly metal. They will program machines, select appropriate tools, and ensure the precision of the final product. Additional responsibilities include setting up machines, writing and testing programs, making adjustments, performing maintenance, and troubleshooting issues.*Duties** Technical Skills: Knowledge of CNC machinery, tooling, CAD/CAM software, and precision measurement instruments.* Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve machining issues.* Mathematical Skills: Ability to interpret blueprints and perform calculations related to dimensions and tolerances.* Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding of machine mechanics and how to troubleshoot problems.* Attention to Detail: Ensuring precision and accuracy in all tasks.* Other duties as assigned*Experience** High School Diploma or GED equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years’ direct industry experience running either lathes or mills, both CNC and manual. Prefer a two-year degree.*Physical Requirements*Must be able to support standard business hours, Monday through Friday. Must also be able to support overtime on weekdays or weekends as required to support business needs.Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
