HAPI provides Tier 1 service to Collins Aerospace, Sikorsky, Textron Lycoming & Boeing to name a few.We are seeking to hire talented, hard-working, and committed individuals for several critical roles in our CNC Lathe & Milling Department.The role of Multi-Axis CNC Operator at HAPI - SECOND SHIFT is the very heat-beat of our operation. Our operators keep our machine spindles turning non-stop and are responsible for crafting components for some of the most advanced air assets our country has in its inventory including, the F-35, F-18, F-16, C-130 and several Commercial Aircraft. You will be directly responsible for supporting American Troops & American Pilots on a daily basis making critical components that only a small fraction of CNC shops in the USA manufacture.*Location*: Bloomfield, CT*Reports to*: VP Operations*Salary Grade:* $25.00 - $35.00 per hour (Relative to Experience, Efficiency, Consistent Performance – we gladly award premium rates for people ready to work and embrace a team atmosphere – if you want a premium rate, be ready to show us what you can bring to the table)*Qualifications*•Candidates must have at least 5 years minimum experience in The Precision CNC Machining Industry, Production Machining and Precision Aerospace experience and or Fastener Manufacturing is a big plus.•Experience operating Multi-Axis – Twin Turret / Twin Spindle lathes like Nakamura TW-20 a big plus, 2- Axis Slantbed Lathes like Cubic Lathes, 2-Axis Slantbed Lathes like Hardinge Cobra lathes a substantial plus.*Responsibilities*· The CNC Lathe Operator / Setup Tech’s primary role includes operating Nakamura Multi-Axis – Twin Turret – Twin Spindle lathes as well as our 2 axis slant bed lathes. You will be responsible for running high end fasteners, small machined parts and Flight Safety lathe components made from INCONEL, Stainless and Alloy Steels.· The Secondary role of the CNC Lathe Operator Setup Tech, is to help setup new lathe jobs as required. Said candidate should be very familiar with installing lathe tooling, drills and cutting inserts for the appropriate material being cut. This includes indicating tooling, drills, understanding the operations of the part program etc.· Set-up and operate CNC Lathes while attaining reasonable, daily output numbers (2-axis and multi-axis including Nakamura, Cubic GT and Hardinge)· Complete various machining operations to produce high quality components and fasteners while referencing specific blueprints, operation sheets, or other specifications· Locate and maintain cutting tools, gages and all other equipment needed to complete the operation and or set-up, change out worn tooling during the production run, clean collets, empty out chips etc.· Make all required adjustments to the machinery, offset changes etc. _(Familiarity with FANUC and Mitsubishi Controls a plus) _· Assist and train other Operators or Set-up/Operators with set-up or production issues. We embrace a team atmosphere, we ALL learn from each other.· Perform visual & dimensional verification using measuring instruments as per the guidelines established by the HAPI, the part complexity etc· Ensure that all manufactured parts are in full compliance to HAPI quality standards· Perform all routine maintenance on the equipment, parts, and maintain all fluid levels, keep machines emptied of chips· Move finished work to an assigned area and enter work performed into required spread sheets. Complete travelers as required. Have the ability to be aware of the flow of jobs through the shop, jobs on deck for the machine.· Perform other duties as required with a positive, passionate attitude.
