Sushi Chef

_*Origami Catering*_ is a Portland-based company that provides grab & go sushi and other Asian cuisine for grocery markets, schools, hospitals, and corporate dining. *Our mission is to create exciting solutions with food*.We are looking for a *Sushi Chef* to oversee a sushi bar within a grocery store! This position requires sushi making and customer service skills. This position is in *Vancouver, WA. **Position: *F/TSushi Chef*Pay Range: *$23-27/hour(based on experience/evaluation)*Status: *5 days/week (including one weekend day)*Shift: *7:30am-4:30pm*Job duties:** Oversee all aspects of running the sushi bar within a grocery store* Follow recipes and proper cooking techniques to produce beautiful sushi and other related items* Provide incredible customer service (engage with and educate customers)* Maintain clean and organized workspaces, merchandising cases, equipment, and utensils* Place orders to our commissary kitchen* Lead the team, ensure all employees are properly handling products and using equipment in accordance with food safety guidelines and state/local regulations* Be friendly, positive, and have a team mindset*Qualifications:** 3+ years of experience in a commercial/restaurant kitchen* 2+ years of experience making sushi (*Previous Sushi Experience Is A Must*)* 1+ year of experience of customer service/customer facing work* Strong verbal and written communication skills in English* WA food worker card required (within one week from start date)* Can stand for the full shift and lift 50 lbs* Dependable, punctual, and can work with a sense of urgency* Working knowledge of MS Excel and general computer skills* Must wear non-slip shoes*Benefits:*· Training· PTO to balance personal and work life· 100% paid medical insurance· Referral bonus ($100/person),· 401k· Free food· Company uniform provided· Growth potential*About Origami:*Origami Catering is a Portland based company focused on providing a sustainable grab and go sushi service to the Pacific Northwest.
