We offer a dynamic environment where tradition meets innovation—and every day’s a chance to shine.We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist who is a self starter and has the ability to work independently, to execute the development of aluminum and acrylic parts and manage the routing of kydex holster prototypes. This position is focused on tool and holster parts requiring precision, creativity, and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.Experience: MachinistWe’re looking for a skilled machinist with 5+ years in precision machining—ideally on Haas machines, but if you’ve mastered similar setups and can learn Haas, we want you! You’ll handle tool setup and material prep to nail our standards, teaming up with design and engineering to bring holster projects to life on a variety of HAAS machines.Key Responsibilities / QualificationsTechnical Skills:* 5+ years of experience in general machine shop work including experience with tooling and set ups and properties of metals and plastic using Haas (or similar) CNC router machinery.* Software Knowledge: Experience with Fusion360 toolpath software with a strong ability to read and interpret design files for toolpath generation and development.* Strong knowledge of CNC machine programming, toolpaths, G-code and overall operation.* Ability to interpret CAD designs and technical drawings into precise specifications.* Tool Offsets and Setup: Ability to set up machines, input tool offsets and adjust parameters for precision cutting.* QC/Inspection Tools: Ability to use various measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, dial indicators and scales to inspect final parts and validate work and ensure parts meet design requirements, quality standards and remain within tolerances.* Fixture and Workpiece Setup: Experience with clamping, fixturing, and aligning raw materials on the machine bed.* Machine Calibration: Proficiency in zeroing the machine, setting up work offsets, and ensuring accuracy.* Tool Selection and Installation: Knowledge of appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and toolholders for specific materials and jobs.* Material Properties: Understanding the behavior of materials like metals, plastics, composites, and their reaction to cutting forces.* Feed and Speed Calculations: Calculating appropriate spindle speeds and feed rates based on material and tool type.* Prior experience in a product development environment is a must.Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving Skills:* Ability to identify, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues with tooling, programming or machine operations independently.* Excellent troubleshooting skills to resolve machining issues quickly and effectively.* A detail-oriented mindset with a focus on precision and craftsmanship.* Recommend improvements to tool designs and machining processes to enhance efficiency.Leadership & Collaboration:* Serve as the lead in day-to-day assignment of tasks and overseeing departmental operations.* Foster a professional and positive work environment through respectful and clear communication with managers and cross-functional partners.* Strong communication and collaboration skills required; Ability to work closely and effectively with engineers on troubleshooting and issue resolution.Workflow and Project Management:* Workflow: Ability to determine the appropriate machines and sequence of operations required for project flow and timely completion.* Project Management: Ability to organize and prioritize projects based on deadlines on PM Board.
