Groundsman for Tree Work

Certified Arborist owned tree service seeks groundsmen. We are willing to train the right candidate.A groundsman's duties include:* Assisting arborist, collecting, dragging, piling limbs, chipping limbs and loading logs* Maintaining tools and equipment* Ensuring the worksite remains hazard free* Safely operating chainsaws, chippers, grinders, and loader* Using the appropriate PPE and observing safety protocols* Adhering to company policies and regulations at all timesCandidate must have:* Valid Driver's License and personal transportation and ability to report to work in Newport at 7:15 am for an open-ended day* A positive attitude, good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions* Experience, ability and willingness to work outdoors, keeping pace with co-workers in extreme weather* Ability to safely operate chainsaws, chippers, grinders and trucks* Good physical strength and health and the ability to safely lift 75 lbs.* Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test* *Candidate must reside within 15 minutes of Newport, NC** *Candidate must have reliable transportation *Compensation starting at $18 per hour based on verifiable experience and qualifications.
