*POSITION SUMMARY*We are looking for a skilled *Polyfusion Technician* with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in thermoplastic welding, focusing on polyethylene (PE) pipe fusion, to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will possess advanced expertise in butt fusion and electrofusion and will be responsible for delivering precise, high-quality pipe connections across diverse field and plant settings.*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:* Perform polyfusion welding using butt fusion, electrofusion, and socket fusion techniques on PE and HDPE piping systems.* Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and isometric diagrams.* Inspect, prepare, and align pipe surfaces for fusion, ensuring high-quality welds according to industry and project specifications.* Operate fusion machines, cutting tools, and related equipment with adherence to safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines.* Conduct pressure testing and quality assurance checks post-fusion to ensure weld integrity.* Maintain and perform routine checks and maintenance on fusion equipment.* Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other technicians to ensure project timelines and standards are met.* Troubleshoot equipment and welding issues effectively in the field.*Qualifications & Experience:** Minimum *5 years of experience* in polyfusion welding, specifically working with PE/HDPE piping systems.* Certified in Butt Fusion and Electrofusion (e.g., McElroy, Georg Fischer, or equivalent).* Strong understanding of thermoplastics behavior and fusion joint standards (e.g., ASTM, DVS, ISO).* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and weld maps.* Proven track record of working on utility, industrial, or civil infrastructure projects.* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.* Physically fit and capable of working in various environmental conditions (outdoors, confined spaces, remote areas).* Valid driver's license, clean driving record and willingness to travel to job sites.*Preferred Qualifications:*· Experience in trenchless technology, gas distribution, or water utility installation.* Familiarity with GPS or digital weld tracking systems.*PHYSICAL DEMANDS*The role involves frequent walking, standing, and moving across various job sites, often in outdoor environments with varying terrain and weather conditions. The job may involve working in confined spaces and around noisy equipment. The candidate must be able to lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed for site inspections and safety checks.Climbing ladders or scaffolding may be required for site inspections or accessing elevated areas. The role demands good visual acuity for inspecting work quality, reading technical drawings, and monitoring safety compliance.Job Type: Full-timePay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hourAbility to Commute:* Amarillo, TX 79172 (Required)Work Location: In person
