Tool and Die TechnicianLocation: Hamptonville, NC*Lydech is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.**The Thermal Acoustical Solutions segment *offers a full line of innovative engineered products to assist in noise and heat abatement within the automotive and industrial markets. The business manufactures acoustical damping and thermal insulating solutions comprised of fiber and metal based composite product constructions. These products are typically found in the interior (dash insulators), underbody (wheel well, fuel tank, exhaust) and under hood (engine compartment) of passenger vehicles, heavy duty trucks, recreational vehicles as well as in other industrial applications. The segment employs approximately ~1400 employees with operations in the U.S., Germany, France and China.*Job Summary:*The Tooling Engineer is a “hands-on” engineer, to provide technical assistance and support to operations, to resolve manufacturing issues, reduce scrap, and to drive continuous process improvements.*Duties and Responsibilities:** Design and manage new process development, timing, setup, debug and training.* Participate in product launches to ensure a smooth transition from design and launch phases into manufacturing.* Continuous improvement driver. Improve profitability and efficiencies of Value Streams, through implementation of process improvements, affecting scrap, labor and downtime. Drive OEE improvement initiatives and cost.* Crash form, draw die and progressive / transfer die design and development.* Hands-On roll in the troubleshooting of various types of die tooling.* Critique advanced product designs for manufacturability.* Hands-On roll in evaluating customer quality concerns.* Prioritize tooling improvements / repairs* Support APQP, DFMEA, PPAP activities as required.*Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required for Consideration as a Candidate:** Must have exceptional skill sets in the following areas with 2 years min experience in Metal Stamping* Able to critique die design concepts for both production worthiness and ease of maintainability.* Strong technical experience with high tonnage metal stamping presses (Mechanical and Hydraulic)* Minimum 1 years’ experience in an Automotive Manufacturing environment requiring multi-tasking and the ability to prioritize.* Ability to function within cross-functional teams, utilizing good communication skills and a “hands–on” approach within all projects.*Additional Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Preferred:** Journeyman Tool and Die Certificate/LicenseJob Type: Full-timePay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hourExpected hours: No less than 40 per weekBenefits:* 401(k)* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Health savings account* Paid time off* Referral program* Vision insuranceSchedule:* 8 hour shift* Day shiftApplication Question(s):* Have you previously worked for Lydech?Experience:* Automotive Manufacturing: 1 year (Preferred)* Metal Stamping: 1 year (Required)* Tool and Die: 1 year (Required)Ability to Relocate:* Hamptonville, NC 27020: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
