Safety is a primary responsibility in everything we do as is support of the *Altec Company Values: *Customer First - Enjoyment of Work - Family - Financial Stability - Integrity - People are our Greatest Strength - Quality - Spiritual Development – Teamwork*The Job*Fabricate, position and form structural metal/fiberglass products· Sets up and operates fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, saws, and presses, to cut, bend, straighten, and form metal/fiberglass plates, sheets and structural shapes according to blueprints and specifications· Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation· Selects, positions, and secures dies, blades, cutters, and fixtures onto machine, using rule, square, shims, templates, hand tools, and built-in gauges· Starts machine and observes machine operation to reposition work piece, change dies, or adjust machine settings for multiple or successive passes· Inspects or measures work, using rule, gauges, and templates· Lifts work piece manually or with hoist, and positions and secures it on machine table in drilling jig or holding fixture· Moves machine controls to feed tools into work piece, and engages automatic feed or manually holds· Observes machine operation, and verifies conformance of work piece to specifications, using fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers· Changes worn cutting tools, using wrenches· Moves controls to adjust cutting speeds, feed rates, and depth of cut· Follow established safety, environmental and quality policies, procedures and practices· Other job duties as assigned.*The Requirements*· High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution· Basic computer usage knowledge· Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics· Ability to read, write, and comprehend*Preferred*· Proficient knowledge in one or more areas: mechanical, manufacturing/production processes· 2 years of manufacturing experience· 2 years as a CNC Machinist or Operator· Vocational training in lieu of experience would be consideredThis job level is able to be adjusted at time of hire if the candidate meets the qualifications for jobs of a more experienced level in the career path._EEOC/AA/M/F/Veteran/Disabled_Job Type: Full-timePay: $21.27 - $31.49 per hourBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Employee assistance program* Flexible spending account* Health insurance* Health savings account* Life insurance* On-the-job training* Paid time off* Prescription drug insurance* Tuition reimbursement* Vision insuranceSchedule:* 3x12* Overtime* Weekends onlyAbility to Commute:* Burnsville, NC 28714 (Required)Ability to Relocate:* Burnsville, NC 28714: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
