Field Operations Lead - Hardscaping

*Role Overview:*The Hardscape Crew Leader oversees and coordinates daily operations for hardscaping projects, ensuring top-quality installation of patios, walkways, driveways, retaining walls, and other masonry stonework. This role involves leadership in field execution, safety, crew direction, and client satisfaction.This role is primarily outdoors with physical and weather-related challenges.Competitive hourly pay, commensurate with experience. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, 401K with the possibility for performance-based bonus.*Key Responsibilities** Project Management: Coordinate and lead crew operations from prep through completion, ensuring alignment with blueprints, plans, and customer expectations.* On-Site Leadership: Lead, supervise and mentor a small team (typically 2-3 crew members); assign tasks, train on tools and procedures, and address questions or issues immediately.* Hands-On Installation: Lead the layout, excavation, base preparation, unit placement, sealing, and finishing. Demonstrate expert skill in stone cutting, leveling, compaction, and use of plate compactors.* Quality Assurance: Adhere to quality control measures at critical phases--grade checking, alignment, base compaction, jointing -- to ensure a structurally sound and visually appealing finished product.* Safety & Compliance: Enforce company safety protocols (including OSHA, PPE usage), maintain a clean site, conduct toolbox talks, and promote safe behavior. Report hazards or incidents promptly.* Materials & Equipment Management: Inventory materials and tools: communicate needs for additional supplies or equipment; ensure proper maintenance of all gear and machinery.* Client Interaction: Provide clear, professional onsite communication-craftmanship updates, addressing concerns, explaining next steps while maintaining a positive client experience.* Project Documentation: Track daily progress, timesheets, material usage, change orders, and sign offs. Report back to Project Manager or Sales with updates and potential issues.*Required Qualifications** 5+ years experience in hardscaping, masonry, or landscaping, with a least 2 years in a leadership capacity.* Proficient in handset stone, segmental retaining walls, pavers, and natural stone.* Strong ability to read and interpret site plans and grade drawings.* Leadership skills: mentoring, delegation, crew coordination.* Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and industry best practices.* Excellent communication skills with crew and clients.* Physical stamina to perform labor-intensive tasks in various weather conditions.* Valid driver's license; clean driving record.*Preferred Skills** OSHA 10 certification* Skilled in landscape equipment, layout tools and technology such as cell phone, ipad, laptop, etc.* Basic math skills for calculations, leveling and grading.*Company Overview*Del Vacchio Landscapes & Christmas Decor is a family-friendly company with over 35 years of experience in landscape design, installation, maintenance, and Christmas decor.
