We are a wedding and event space located in historic downtown Burlington, Wisconsin and are excited to share our love for service, weddings, and hospitality with couples for years to come.*Who we are:**Our Mission: *Make Other People Shine*Our Core Values:** *CARE*: We _care first for each other, then customers_* *SERVICE*: We wow our customers with _service and hospitality_* *PROCESS*: We _follow repeatable systems_ to ensure consistently excellent experiences for our customers and co-workers* *IMPROVEMENT*: We _constantly improve and raise the bar_ on our service experience, our facility, our brand, ourselves*The Job:**Who do you have to be?** Interested or experienced in bar operations and/or customer service* Someone who lives within 30 minutes of the venue* Enjoys being on their feet at work* Good at thinking ahead and anticipate the needs of the bar staff* Works well with a team but also can work without direction* Physically capable and able to lift 25+ lbs going up and down stairs* Available to work ~1:00pm to ~8:00pm Fridays, Saturdays, and some Sundays· *What do you have to do?** Set up and break down bar with liquor, plasticware, etc. according to event specifications.* Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stocking of the bar during the shift.* Learn the art of making drinks from the bartender including the importance of proper measuring, ingredients, how to find a recipe if you do not recognize the drink ingredients by name, how to properly serve the drink to the guests, and answer questions about the venue including steps for tipping with Venmo.* Work with the bartender to learn how to serve beverages in a responsible manner according to Wisconsin state liquor laws and rules set in place by 10 South.* Interact with guests in a friendly, professional manner and, by working alongside the bartender fulfill drink requests accordingly.* In some cases, receive payment from guests and process/make change accordingly.*Why should you choose Mercantile Hall?** *Charming, Historic Setting*: Work in a one-of-a-kind venue that’s full of character, style, and beautiful backdrops everywhere you look.* *Incredible Team Culture*: Join a crew that’s passionate, welcoming, and always ready to support one another.
