We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Operations Coordinator to join our team and drive the efficiency and success of our production floor.*Position Summary*The operations Coordinator is the central hub of our manufacturing activities. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the production floor, ensuring a seamless flow from raw materials to finished, packaged dog beds. The ideal candidate is a natural leader with a keen eye for process improvement, a firm grasp of inventory principles, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Your leadership will directly impact on our product quality, team morale, and overall operational excellence.*Key Responsibilities**1. Leadership & Team Supervision:** Provide direct leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the production team, including foam cutters, fabric sewers, assembly staff, and packaging personnel.* Foster a culture of safety, quality, and high performance, leading by example on the production floor.* Establish daily and weekly production schedules and goals, clearly communicating expectations and monitoring progress to ensure targets are met.* Conduct team huddles, provide ongoing training and coaching, and manage employee scheduling and time-off requests.* Address personnel issues promptly and professionally, working to resolve conflicts and motivate the team towards common objectives.*2. Process Implementation & Improvement:** Analyze existing production workflows—from foam shaping and fabric cutting to sewing, stuffing, and final assembly—to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.* Develop, document, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency, reduce waste (e.g., foam and fabric scrap), and ensure consistent product quality.* Champion quality control initiatives, performing regular checks at all stages of production to ensure every dog bed meets our exacting standards.* Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as units per hour, defect rates, and order fulfillment times, and report findings to management.*3. Inventory Management:** Oversee and maintain accurate inventory levels of all raw materials, including various densities of foam, bolts of fabric, zippers, thread, and packaging supplies.* Implement and manage a robust inventory tracking system (e.g., ERP, spreadsheets) to monitor stock, forecast needs, and prevent production delays due to material shortages.* Coordinate and lead regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.* Manage the organization and storage of raw materials and finished goods within the warehouse to ensure safety, accessibility, and efficient use of space.*4. Vendor & Supply Chain Management:** Serve as a primary point of contact for key suppliers of foam, textiles, and other manufacturing components.* Generate and manage purchase orders, track inbound shipments, and ensure timely delivery of materials.* Inspect incoming materials for quality and accuracy, working with vendors to resolve any discrepancies or quality issues.* Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with vendors to ensure favorable terms and reliable service.*Qualifications & Skills**Required:** 2-4 years of experience in an operations, production, or manufacturing environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.* Demonstrated leadership ability with experience training, motivating, and managing a team.* Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and adapt in a dynamic environment.* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and comfortable learning new software/systems.* Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.* Ability to be on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.*Preferred:** Direct experience in textiles, upholstery, furniture, or foam fabrication industries.* Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.* Experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.* Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus.*What We Offer:** A competitive salary and benefits package.* A collaborative and energetic work environment.* The opportunity to make a significant impact on a growing company.* And of course, plenty of puppy love!Jolly Pets is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
