*JOB SUMMARY:*The General Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of Patti’s Swim School, ensuring the facility runs smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with company values. This role requires excellent organizational and leadership skills to manage staff, maintain a high standard of customer service, optimizing scheduling and resources, and support the development of both students and employees. The General Manager is responsible for upholding the integrity and reputation of Patti’s Swim School by demonstrating professionalism, making sound decisions, and maintaining an unwavering commitment to the success of the business. This includes ensuring an exceptional client experience, fostering staff engagement and satisfaction, and upholding the highest operational standards.*QUALIFICATIONS: ** Must possess proven strong leadership ability to effectively oversee swim school operations and support staff.* Demonstrated experience in managing staff schedules and client scheduling to ensure optimal coverage and a seamless operation.* Strong understanding of, and commitment to, enforcing and adhering to company policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and accountability across the team.* Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to professionally address client inquiries, resolve concerns, and build positive relationships.* Proficient in computer operations, including data entry, email and text communication, and the use of scheduling tools.* Familiarity with MindBody Software is preferred, however, a willingness to learn and complete training is acceptable.* Effective phone and email etiquette, demonstrating clear communication, active listening, and courteous interactions with clients and colleagues.* Ability to work closely and collaboratively with the Owner to implement business goals, operational improvements, and strategic initiatives.* Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain an orderly workflow in a fast-paced environment.*SCHEDULE:*Patti’s Swim School operates year-round, offering lessons Monday through Thursday and on Saturdays. In addition to a regular weekday schedule, the General Manager is required to work at minimum of two Saturdays per month and remain available to respond to emergencies or staff callouts as needed. Specific work hours will be determined at the time of hiring and are based on the operational needs of the swim school. Hours may vary by season, with different demands in summer verses the off season.*SALARY:*This is an exempt position with a starting salary of $60,000 plus commission. Salary may be increased after the trial period, based on performance and attendance.*RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: *Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to:* Schedule swim lessons and manage overall staff schedule to ensure adequate coverage.* Review upcoming schedules to anticipate and address staffing needs.* Recruit, train, and manage staff to maintain a high-performing, customer focused team.* Provide ongoing coaching, support, and performance feedback to staff.* Coordinate and maintain daily schedules to meet client demand and minimize gaps in service.* Oversee facility cleanliness and work with pool service providers to ensure all equipment operates properly.* Respond to voicemails, emails and text messages within 24 hours to maintain effective client communication.* Develop and execute marketing initiatives, including generating creative ideas to attract and retain clients.* Meet or exceed established sales goals.* Monitor and track key performance metrics and report results to Ownership.* Maintain accurate records for client accounts, staff certifications, and incident reports.* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and labor laws/regulations.* Address employee conflicts or performance issues with fairness and discretion.* Maintain a strong customer service focus in all client interactions.* Take and post engaging Instagram content during each shift to promote the swim school.* Apply strong problem-solving skills to resolve issues as they arise.* Perform opening and closing procedures as assigned.*REPORTS TO: *This position reports directly to the Owner of Patti’s Swim School.*BRAND REPRESENTATION:*As the General Manager of Patti’s Swim School, you represent our brand. Managers are expected to come to work enthusiastic, polite and fully engaged with customers and staff. You should always be appropriately dressed and possess the ability to make executive decisions when necessary.*DECISION MAKING FOR CHILD SUCCESS:*It is important that you have the ability to make decisions that are in the best interest of children. For example, if a child is repeatedly crying or struggling during a lesson, the Manager should personally go to the pool, observe the situation, and engage with both the parent and the instructor. Together, you will discuss potential improvements to help the child feel more comfortable and successful in their lessons.*PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT STATEMENT:*As an employee of Patti’s Swim School, you are expected to always maintain the highest standards of professional conduct. This includes but is not limited to:* Treat all clients, colleagues and management with respect, professionalism, and honesty.* Demonstrate clear, effective, and courteous communication with staff, clients, and management.
