We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Powder Coating Painter to join our manufacturing team. As an expert in powder coating applications, you will be responsible for applying high-quality finishes to metal parts and products using advanced powder coating techniques. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and expertise in equipment operation. If you have a passion for delivering flawless coatings and thrive in a fast-paced production setting, we want to hear from you!Key Responsibilities* *Powder Coating Application:* Expertly apply powder coatings to a variety of metal surfaces using electrostatic spray guns, ensuring even coverage, adhesion, and finish quality. Understand gun settings (e.g., voltage, powder flow, air pressure) based on material type, part geometry, and environmental factors to achieve optimal results.* *Equipment Setup and Maintenance:* Set up, calibrate, and operate powder coating booths, guns, ovens, and related equipment. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and cleaning to prevent downtime and maintain efficiency.* *Quality Control:* Inspect coated parts for defects such as orange peel, runs, or inconsistencies. Conduct thickness measurements and adhesion tests to meet industry standards (e.g., ASTM specifications).* *Safety and Compliance:* Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment), ventilation systems, and hazardous material handling. Utilize provided air-conditioned suits to maintain comfort during extended shifts.* *Inventory and Documentation:* Track powder usage, maintain records of coated parts, and report any issues with materials or equipment. Assist in inventory management for powders, solvents, and supplies.* *Team Collaboration:* Work closely with production teams to meet deadlines, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives in the finishing department.Qualifications and Requirements* *Experience:* Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a powder coating painter or in a similar role. Proven expertise in powder application techniques, gun settings, and troubleshooting common issues like Faraday cage effects or powder clumping.* *Technical Skills:* In-depth knowledge of powder coating systems (e.g., Nordson, Gema, or Parker equipment), including electrostatic principles, powder types (e.g., epoxy, polyester), and curing methods. Familiarity with color matching and multi-coat applications is a plus.* *Education:* High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in powder coating, painting, or industrial finishing preferred (e.g., NACE or PCI certification).* *Physical Requirements:* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a manufacturing environment. Comfortable wearing air-conditioned suits and other PPE.* *Soft Skills:* Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to quality. Ability to work independently or in a team, with excellent time management.* *Other:* Must pass a background check and drug screening.
