Corporate Catering Captain

This position is for a Senior-level catering events professional who manages the on-site service staff, food and beverage operations at a private bank located in Century City. This person ensures clients have a great experience and are satisfied daily. The ideal candidate is a self-sufficient individual who holds the ability to complete daily responsibilities working along with, and with supervision, from the on-site client so good communication is crucial. It’s crucial that this individual be able to accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor with both internal staff and external guests while exercising first class leadership. Our team is small but effective and we need someone who can learn quickly while proactively handling any hospitality related issues that may arise.Ownership of one’s work is essential as new tasks arise rapidly and often. Operational experience is paramount. Following up on key details is one of the fundamental elements of the role and is key to our daily operations overall. We are often presented with new challenges and are thus looking for someone who can confidently adapt and respond in a timely and effective manner. This position is full time Monday-Friday; while the schedule may vary week to week it is generally 8am-4:30pm with paid banking holidays off.Key Responsibilities include:* Primary liaison with Love Catering and the client* Food and beverage setup, breakdown, clean up, and turnover of meeting rooms* Assist with quality control on food and beverage* Oversee of on-site service staff* Maintenance of pantry cleanliness and product inventory* Conduct inventory and stock meeting rooms with pens, paper, brochures* Organize office stock and maintain the storage spaces* Organize and clean rooms and common areas* Greet guests and serve specialty coffee upon requestQualifications:* Serve Safe manager certification REQUIRED* Preferred hospitality management degree* Knowledge of catering and meeting/event setup* 2-3 years of catering captain experience REQUIRED* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills* Computer skills* Candidate should be polished, professional, and able to work well under pressure* 3-5 years of experience working at high profile and corporate events* Strong leadership skills, excellent customer service skillsResponsibilities but not limited to:* *Planning*:* Review daily event BEO’s, including the menu and dietary restrictions of internal staff and guests attending meetings* Set-up, execution, and tear down of daily meal services* *Staff management*:* Weekly schedule, communicate daily assignments, train new staff members, oversee on site team members* *Communication*:* Maintain communication with Love Catering, the client, event host, kitchen staff, management and other departments* *Guest satisfaction*:* Interact with guests and meeting planner* Handle all feedback from the clients and guests* *Food and beverage*:* Coordinate food and beverage orders with Love Catering and the client* Properly sanitize and organize all food and beverage areas* *Documentation*:* Produce daily Captain’s report* Handle and address any service issues that arise* *Safety*:* Enforce health and safety guidelines* Update hygiene regulations and protocols*UNIFORM:*The candidate must be extremely polished and professional and wear clothing that won’t restrict them from their duties.
