Youth Counselor

*Full Time Youth Counselor**About the Job: *The Huntington Youth Bureau Institute, the largest, comprehensive system of youth services in New York State, has provided youth development services to the Town of Huntington for the past 40 years. As part of the Huntington Youth Bureau Institute, Project Excel provides programs and services to youth ages 11-21 in the areas of Art, Life skills, Education and Employment enrichment.*Responsibilities include:** Develop and implement youth enrichment programs such as: Art Enrichment, STEM education programming, SAT/ ACT prep classes, college and career planning, employment services to youth ages 12-21.* Provide program outreach, educational presentations, and community networking to schools, local libraries, community agencies, and civic organizations.* Engage local businesses and homeowners in efforts to develop job offerings to refer and place eligible teenage workers.* Candidate must be willing to drive a 15-passenger van for transportation of youth and program supplies to and from the youth bureau.* Accurate report keeping for both paper and digital reporting.*QUALIFICATIONS:*Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Human Services or a related field such as Teaching, Counseling, Psychology and Social Work; plus at least one year experience working with adolescents.
