We are a community of 20 teams ranging in ages from microsoccer to high school. We are a “public” soccer club and charge very lowfees to join. The club is recognized as a “Project Play Champion” by theAspen Institute for Sport and Society because of our commitment toaccess, equity, fun, and excellence. IFC is a program of America SCORESBay Area, a non-profit organization that has provided free soccer andafter-school enrichment programs for over 20 years. We collaborateclosely with Mission Youth Soccer League (MYSL) for player and leagueregistrations.*IFC Culture, Philosophy, and Core Values*We want all kids to experience joy, be healthy, feel connected, and be prepared tonavigate the future. We strive for quantifiable results and accountability at all levels ofour organization.*Statement of Purpose and Core Objectives:*The Program Coordinator supports the IFC coaches with their teams, lesson plansand soccer curriculum. The Program Coordinator builds strong relationships withcoaches, students, parents and America SCORES Bay Area who is our mayor partner.The Program Coordinator reports to the IFC Program Director and will maintainconsistent, on-going communication with the IFC Program Director.Schedule: The candidate must be available at least three days during the week fromMonday--Friday from 2-7 PM. Additional, coaching games on the weekend duringthe fall/spring season is expected.*The main responsibilities include:** Learn how to run timeslot, NorCal website* Learn the IFC Soccer Curriculum.* Study the US Soccer Cocurricular and apply it with the IFC Program* Create/Expand the IFC Soccer Curriculum* Provide ongoing support to IFC coaches* Manage the weekly calendar of team practices in coordination with IFCProgram Director* Interact and communicate effectively with IFC staff, coaches, parents,student-athletes, and other IFC/SCORES related contacts as needed.* Building relationships with youth through positive interactions and rolemodeling.*Seasonal Schedule of Activities*_Before the Season: Communicate Expectations, Prepare, Recruit_1. Discuss expectations for the season with IFC coaches2. Run coaches’ workshops with IFC Coaches3. Go over soccer curriculum with coaches—lessons, activities_During Season: Engage, Inspire, And Assist_1. Hold weekly meetings with coaches via zoom or in person● Support your coaches and Assist with practice and class, model goodcoaching, lead and demonstrate engaging activities, work with students insmall groups, reinforce IFC values and help create a positive, supportiveteam culture.● Maintain consistent communication with the SCORES Program Directorabout how practices and classes are going.● Build relationships with students and parents.2. Help coaches prepare for practice/ Game Days and events.● Get students excited for Game Days and events.● Help the IFC coaches inform parents about games and events (handout fliers, word of mouth, etc.)4. Communicate site success and challenges to the IFC Program Director● Check-in with the IFC Program Director to solve problems.● Any major concerns about students’ physical and emotional safety, aswell as concerns about the health of the program, MUST becommunicated to the IFC Program Director immediately._End of Season / After Season: Re-Collect, Review, Reward_1. Help collect equipment, paper and/or attendance sheets.2. Reflect on and review the season with the IFC Program Director.3. Thank students, coaches, staff, parents and celebrate the team’saccomplishments.4. Help organize end of the season team party and distribute coach andstudent awards.*Qualifications:*Comfortable working with urban youth from diverse backgroundsin non-conventional spaces. Possess sound competency with youth developmentprinciples, mentoring, counseling or coaching. Soccer coaching and/or classroomteaching experience a plus. Must have strong verbal and interpersonal*Communication skills:*must be organized, patient, detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
