Job Description

Essential Functions:* Identifies, categorizes, and labels hazardous materials and waste according to regulatory standards.* Ensures proper storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous waste in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.* Maintains a waste tracking system to monitor waste generation, handling, and disposal.* Develops and enforces safety procedures and protocols related to hazardous materials and waste management.* Conducts regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.* Provides training to employees on safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.* Develops and implements emergency response plans for hazardous material incidents.* Assists in responding to chemical spills, leaks, or other hazardous material emergencies.* Coordinates with local emergency response agencies and ensures that necessary equipment and resources are available.* Maintains accurate records and documentation related to hazardous waste management activities, including manifests, permits, and safety data sheets (SDS).* Prepares and submits regulatory reports and permits as required by local and federal agencies.* Monitors and assesses environmental impacts associated with hazardous waste management.* Recommends and implements strategies to minimize the environmental footprint of hazardous materials and waste.* Ensures that all equipment used in hazardous waste handling is in good working condition and properly maintained.* Oversees the distribution and use of appropriate PPE for employees involved in hazardous waste management activities.* Stays up-to-date with changes in environmental health and safety regulations, and ensures organizational compliance.* Interacts with regulatory agencies as needed and assists with inspections and audits.* Promotes a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the organization.* Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.Job Type: Full-timePay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hourBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceSchedule:* 8 hour shiftWork Location: In person
