*Essential Functions:** Arrange food for serving.* Assist chefs or caterers with food or drink preparation.* Check the quality of foods or supplies.* Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.* Cook food(s).* Cut cooked or raw foods.* Estimate supplies, ingredients, or staff requirements for food preparation activities.* Measure ingredients.* Mix ingredients.* Prepare bread(s) or dough(s).* Prepare foods for cooking or serving.* Serve food or beverages.* Clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.* Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.* Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.* Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.* Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience.* Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.* Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.* Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and serve food to waiters or patrons.* Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as: tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.* Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption.* Carve and trim meats such as beef, veal, ham, pork, and lamb for hot or cold service, or for entrees.* Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods.* Performs all duties in adherence to standards.* Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.* Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all guests and co-workers.* Adheres to all policies and procedures set forth and outlined in the employee handbook.* Performs other duties as assigned.* Complies with all state and county health codes for food handling.* Attends all in-services training and pre-shift meetings.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hourExpected hours: 30 – 39 per weekBenefits:* Employee discountShift:* 8 hour shift* Evening shiftExperience:* Restaurant experience: 1 year (Preferred)Shift availability:* Night Shift (Required)Work Location: In person
