*Job Title*: Associate Vocational Instructor – Explorer Program*Location*: Carlsbad, CA*Job Type*: Full-Time*Hourly Rate*: $18–$21*About the Role*Beacons, Inc. is seeking creative, energetic, and motivated individuals to join our *Explorer vocational workshops* as *Associate Instructors*. This hands-on position supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in building practical skills for employment and community participation.Associate Instructors work closely with the Lead Instructor to implement engaging curriculum, provide on-site and community-based instruction, support assessments, and help trainees build confidence and independence. If you love working with people, enjoy problem-solving, and want to make a direct impact, we’d love to hear from you!*Key Responsibilities** Assist the Lead Instructor in delivering workshop content in-person* Support pre- and post-assessments, progress tracking, and documentation* Provide individualized instructional support to help trainees strengthen vocational and life skills* Use creativity to develop tools that make learning meaningful and engaging* Accompany and support trainees in *daily community-based learning experiences** Model professional behavior and communication in various community and workplace settings* Support trainee transportation logistics and event coordination as needed*Position Requirements** Demonstrated success working with individuals with mild/moderate intellectual and developmental disabilities* Comfortable using assistive technology to meet varied learning and communication needs* Proficient with education-related tools and platforms (e.g., Google Suite, Canva)* Creative thinker who enjoys problem-solving and developing new ways to support learning* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills* *Must have a valid California driver’s license and clean DMV record** *Must have reliable transportation and be willing to drive trainees to and from community-based events* (mileage is reimbursed per company policy)* Successful completion of a LiveScan and background check* Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required* Teaching credential not required, though strong instructional skills are essential*About Beacons*Beacons, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Carlsbad, CA.
