Job Description

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for developing and leading the sanitation and housekeeping programs to ensure compliance with current food safety standards at the assigned Customer Service Center (CSC). This includes the implementation, inspection, monitoring, and verification of sanitation and food safety systems. The Sanitation Supervisor is accountable for ensuring that sanitation and housekeeping staff are adequately trained and skilled, and for evaluating sanitation and housekeeping effectiveness, taking timely corrective actions when needed.This role actively promotes a strong Food Safety Culture by upholding high sanitation and housekeeping standards and increasing awareness among employees and leadership. The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and ongoing execution of preventive food safety control programs, including Policies, SOPs, SSOPs, Cleaning Schedules, Master Sanitation Schedules, and associated documentation.*Responsibilities:** Ensure compliance with all relevant governmental and regulatory agency standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, OSHA, HACCP).* Ensure adherence to customer specifications, corporate food safety and quality standards, and regional food safety policies.* Conduct regular inspections of the manufacturing process to assess and establish effective sanitation and housekeeping protocols.* Develop and oversee Cleaning Schedules, Housekeeping Schedules, and Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS).* Monitor and verify the sanitation and housekeeping programs through daily facility inspections, escalating irregularities when necessary.* Create and distribute daily and weekly work schedules for the sanitation and housekeeping staff.* Manage pre-operational inspections to ensure sanitary conditions are met before production starts.* Monitor the preparation and correct use of cleaning chemicals.* Maintain and update “Right to Know” stations and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to ensure compliance.*Additional Responsibilities:** Coordinate and conduct annual training on chemicals, SSOPs, housekeeping protocols, and other specific requirements.* Foster effective collaboration with cross-functional internal teams.* Monitor compliance with food safety systems including CCPs, and PRPs.* Maintain, verify, and ensure accuracy and completeness of all sanitation and housekeeping records.* Track and report on performance indicators such as:- Cost and productivity- Environmental monitoring results- Cleaning, sanitation, and housekeeping effectiveness (e.g., swab results)- Audit and inspection performance- Sanitation and housekeeping staff training and development*Qualifications:** Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge is required.* 5 years of relevant work experience in sanitation, housekeeping, or food manufacturing.* Strong problem-solving and leadership capabilities.* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.* Demonstrated ability to develop and lead teams toward achieving results and productivity targets.* Solid understanding of OSHA, GMP, FDA, and USDA regulations.* PCQI and/or HACCP certification is a plus.* Pest control training is a plus.* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications.*Working Conditions:**Physical Activity:** Frequent activities include carrying, bending, stooping, grasping, standing, twisting, lifting, walking, sweeping, writing, mopping, and packing boxes.*Physical Requirements:** Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently.* Physically active work environment.*Working Conditions:** Work may involve both indoor and outdoor environments.* Must be able to work in cool environments for long durations.Job Type: Full-timePay: $60,200.00 - $90,300.00 per yearBenefits:* Employee discount* Flexible schedule* Health insurance* Paid time offSchedule:* Monday to Friday* Overnight shift* Weekends as neededWork Location: In person
