Probation Officer

Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Probation Officer. As a Probation Officer, you will play a vital role in the criminal justice system by supervising and assisting individuals who have been placed on probation. This is an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others and contribute to community safety.Duties:- Conduct interviews with probationers to assess their needs, risks, and compliance with court-ordered conditions- Develop and implement individualized case plans to address probationers' specific needs and reduce recidivism- Monitor probationers' compliance with court-ordered conditions, such as attending counseling sessions, drug testing, or community service- Conduct home visits to ensure probationers are living in a stable environment conducive to rehabilitation- Provide referrals to community resources and support services to help probationers address underlying issues, such as substance abuse or mental health concerns- Prepare detailed reports documenting probationers' progress, violations, and recommendations for the court- Collaborate with other criminal justice professionals, including law enforcement officers, attorneys, and social workers, to ensure effective case management- Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate intervention or referrals as neededExperience:- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)- Previous experience in law enforcement, case management, or social work is highly desirable- Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and conducting interviews- Knowledge of motivational interviewing techniques to engage probationers in the change process- Ability to effectively manage crisis situations and deescalate conflicts- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and court procedures related to probation supervisionWe offer competitive compensation and benefits packages for our Probation Officers.
