Hardwood Saw Mill Manager

*Job Title:* Mill Manager/Supervisor*Job Type:* Full-time, Permanent*Job Overview:*We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated *Mill Manager/Supervisor* to lead and oversee operations at our well-established hardwood lumber company. The facility processes logs into grade hardwood lumber on a single shift, and this role requires expertise in managing all aspects of sawmill operations, from production efficiency to safety compliance.*Key Responsibilities:** *Safety Leadership:* Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and fostering a safety-first culture.* *Operational Excellence:* Continuously improve sawmill performance through planning, action, and analysis of results.* *Team Development:* Mentor and train staff, promoting open communication and respect among team members.* *Quality Control:* Monitor manufacturing, grading, tallying, packing, and shipping to maintain high-quality standards.* *Maintenance Oversight:** Schedule and execute regular maintenance, including replacing wear items (bearings, chains, motors, etc.).* Collaborate with millwrights to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.* Oversee large-scale repairs and projects, such as equipment installation, fabrication, and welding.* *Regulatory Compliance:* Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and ensure the facility adheres to all safety and operational guidelines.* *Flexibility:* Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.*Qualifications:** *Experience:* Minimum *2 years of Management experience* is mandatory.
