*Job Title: *CNC *Vertical Mill or Lathe* Machinist*Location: *Kansas City*Status: *Non Exempt *Department: *Manufacturing*Summary: *You will be responsible, as a CNC Vertical Mill or Lathe Machinist, for the operation of CNC machining equipment for the purpose of manufacturing parts as designed. This will include verification of parts made to design specifications. You will also be responsible for the handling of work orders through an ERP system, monitoring and recommending adjustments to routers for accurate recordings of time expenditures.Normal business hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (30 min lunch) Monday – Friday. Some Saturdays may be required (workload dependent).*Essential Duties and Responsibilities *include but are not limited to the following:1. You will demonstrate technical proficiency with vertical mill or lathe CNC milling machines, including set up, operation and tool changes.2. You will have an understanding of simple G&M code editing.3. You will be able to read and interpret engineering design prints.4. You will verify machined parts to engineering design print specifications.5. You will provide your own basic machine shop measuring tools and be able to use them effectively.6. You will be able to effectively communicate with other machinists as well as immediate members of management.7. You'll be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area.*Qualifications: *To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Specific experience with HAAS vertical milling machines is beneficial.Three years of experience setting up and operating CNC lathes. Specific experience with Mori Seiki Lathes is beneficial.Must have the ability to respond and adjust to changing or new situations environments and maintain professionalism in dealing with co-workers.*Language Ability: *Ability to read and interpret documents such as mechanical drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.*Math Ability: *Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.*Computer Skills: *To perform this job successfully, you must be able to operate a computer to log information into an ERP system.*Work Environment: *The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
